Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen

Amazing stay, friendly and helpful staff. They helped us pre book excursions and ship luggage. Amazing view of Mt. Fuji.

It was a great experience! We stayed for just one night, as a transition from Kyoto to Tokyo. Although it was rainy, cold and Mt Fuji was not visible, it was the best place to stay. The welcoming staff at the reception, they take care of luggage immediately for you. You get a tour of the hotel by one of the staff which explains you all the itinerary of events and get you to you room. Our room was a traditional room with a hot spring looking at Mt Fuji (which unfortunately was not visible), tatami floor, traditional beds and all :) Then we got to wear a kimono, get a tea on the beautiful tea house surrounded by the cutest garden; we got a private traditional lunch, i got to experience also the hot springs at the rooftop. The buffet breakfast is extensive and delicious, plus the souvenir shop had great prices and lots of items. A perfect cozy and resting day. My score deduction is only for some upgrades that are needed but it is my only comment. The next day we checked out and we got the hotel offers a free shuttle until noon to the bus station. Here we stored our luggage easily and got to spend the rest of the afternoon in town and got to see Mt Fuji.

This place is pretty cool. It doesn't look like much from outside, but the room was clean and modern. The in room onsen was great. Great views of Mt. Fuji. Service and staff are top notch. There is a beautiful Japanese garden on both sides of the river that go on and on. Overall, would definitely come back!
