I love the spa aesthetically it was beautiful and restorative. The room was spectacular in the view of the square brought so much joy.. the staff was very kind and we loved our experience

Hotel room was very grand apart from air conditioning not working efficiently. Spacious and comfortable with one major downside ( being able to sleep). The hotel is located in a square which also houses a 5 a side pitch. That in itself wasn't the issue or was the fact it was still going on at 11-30 at night. The issue was they had hired the local village idiot to control the tannoy and he had set it to a volume more suited to being heard over an excitable teenage audience at a Taylor Swift concert. The windows and shutters offered little defence to the over excitable and constant commentary. I discussed the issue the following morning with the hotel staff who felt that it was beyond their control. I disagree - they could have warned guests, only offered rooms at the back of the hotel or offered ear defenders. They did none of these things. They could also ask them to turn the tannoy down to something less than the 110 decibels before they lose custom but they didn't seem inclined. You, reader at least have been warned. I wish someone had warned us.

Dont know what happened this time this guys are ussualy very good however this stay was a disaster first the room they gave me was used I entered and the soap was used there was half a bottle of water in the nightstand half used shampoo bottles in the shower bath robe was used as well, breakfast eggs were bitter looked old and tasted terrible the shower lesked all night a lot of water, it would close so kept running all night finally could get wifi to work in 3rd floor used all my roaming data as i was working, as i said dont know what happened as this hotel is usually very good however this time everything went wrong

Amazing! A truly elegant, classy hotel with all of the amenities including magnificent artwork. Just wait till you see the gorgeous room where you will be eating your delicious, gourmet buffet breakfast. The staff is warm, welcoming and very professional. Room comfort at the highest level. The town of sound radio with it central courtyard adjacent to the front of the hotel is delightful. This is a very special town to visit and a very special hotel to stay in. The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were updated with beautiful bathrooms. The service was great. The location was perfect. We could walk everywhere.My only comment is to ask for a room not facing the square. It was very noisy both Friday and Saturday night.The value for the price is amazing and I will absolutely stay there again.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They gave me very useful information on dealing with a train strike. This hotel is lovely and well maintained, like a Ritz-Carlton in the US but with much more character. Beautifully restored antique furnishings added a lot of charm. I'm reluctant to criticise, but in a hotel of such high standards it's surprising that the air conditioning is unreliable. I hope they can resolve this. Everything else is really great!

Overall its an amazing hotel ! We loved the location in the piazza, the building and its history, the decor, the artwork. Really beautiful. Breakfast is good and the staff serving you is very helpful and friendly so as the housekeeping lady. Bit surprised by the mess in the SPA, altought the spa itself is super stylish and comfy. Dissapointing, that the room we booked did not match the pictures or the size mentioned on the web. The receptionist told us to get it we should book through the hotel web directly. So why not just to update the info on the other websites ? We met other guests who complained about exactly same issue and told us they moved to the room as in the pictures the next day, spacious and more stylish than our basic room. The bathroom however was very nice.

The hotel is beautiful - situated on the piazza in Sondrio which is wonderful. Our rooms were extremely hot and we asked the front desk to look into the problem. With their state of art monitoring system they were able to indeed figure out that our rooms were hot but nothing was ever done to fix the problem or provide relief. Our time there was unpleasant at night because the only relief was to open the windows which opened out on to noise on the street. Rooms were clean but we didn't always get new soap, fresh towels - spotty service at best. Breakfast was lovely - staff there was excellent.

We booked a quiet room, and were given a corner room overlooking the square. This was fine during the day, but come evening time when all of the local youth congregated there, it was very unpleasant. I do not expect to pay these prices and have to use ear plugs to get off to sleep. We had the table d’hote meal in the evening, which was average. It may be that there was a large function being catered for at the same time, but nothing offered was appetising, or tasted any good. First thing in the morning the cold tap dispensed brown water! No bath robes. On checking out, when the noise from the square was mentioned, the receptionist did say “Oh, yes, you did book a quiet room. Sorry”. Will not be returning – hotel too big for the staff to manage properly.
