    Pluses: proximity to transportation options/food/shopping, a lot of extras (bottled water, toiletries, little treats in the lobby, coffee), great management and staff who dealt with fire emergency super well (free timbits!), reliable WiFi, microwave/coffee maker in the room, really tasty and varied breakfast, nice DOVE cosmetics Minuses: continuously broken espresso machine in the lobby, poor room noise isolation, too small breakfast area (and allowing guests to work there non stop!) Major props for giving a chance and employing uniquely abled! They all did super well!

    This hotel is not fancy but provides almost anything you will need for a short stay. Location is convenient. Close to shopping and restaurants. Free parking is a big plus as it is not easy to park in Vancouver.

    We stayed 4 nights at Holiday Inn Express Burnaby spending some time in Vancouver before our Alaska Cruise. In view of world cup season, hotel prices are really high, hence we needed to stay off town for a more manageable hotel costs. Loved the location and amenities around the hotel, right across the skytrain (20mins to town), next to the biggest shopping mall in Vancouver (easy access to food and shopping). Uber ride from airport was reasonable C$30+. We also loved the vibe of the neighbourhood, however we saw few homeless round the corners. But guess this is a city issue and not the hotel. Breakfast is included in the rate and we can get simple breakfast fix if one is not fussy. Breakfast is self-service. Really glad that the hotel provide work opportunities for people with special needs, replenishing and preparing F&B for breakfast. Check in and out was smooth, there is a water and ice machine near the lift that we can self-service. Room is spacious and met expectations, however cleanliness can be improved. We had a great time.

    Front desk & b’fast staff was good. However a few times when we entered the hotel we were asked to show our room keys. The area is next to Metrotown & at night sometimes it does not feel safe outside the hotel. Twice we left our room around noon and told the hose keeping to make our room but it was not done.
