Wonderful

Lovely house and gardens, and very friendly owner who goes above and beyond to provide a 5* experience for his guests. Our room was spacious and spotless, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom luxurious. The breakfast was wonderful and Marcus encourages guests to take the leftovers away for a picnic lunch. He also provides a range of hot and cold drinks at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend 😊

Superb

Beautiful backyard adjacent to a field with deer. Exceptionally clean house and room. Very friendly host who made us wonderful breakfast. Environment is beautiful. Free parking in front of the door which was very convenient. Too bad we don't speak German, so we couldve talked more to our host and thank him.

Serrig is a very small town. Availability of food and groceries is better in Saarburg, only about 8min drive.

Very nice stay and asolutely charming host

Pension Schmitz was extremely comfortable, and we truly enjoyed our stay in this pretty little German village. The rooms were nicely appointed (we had the Africa room under the roof), the bathroom was very large and had all the necessary amenities. There is everything necessary such as a fridge with water, coffee machine, etc on the ground floor next to the dining room. The breakfast outside on the terrace was exceptional and so nicely prepared freshly by owner Markus. With a bit of luck, you can spot the deer in the woods below. We will definitely be back when we visit our family.

The only drawback, Serrig is not the most exciting of villages (you will have to take the car to go to the next town, charming Saarburg). Otherwise there is not much to do in that little village, other than 1 restaurant in the center, which we haven't tried.

Beautiful pension with wonderful host

Our stay in pension Schmitz was excellent in every way. The host is really nice and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and very big. The home-made bread was very tasty and on the table was vast selection of everything you need. The room exceeded our expectations. It was beautifuly furnished, clean and the bed was very comfy.

A hospitable place to stay in a quiet location.

The room was both comfortable and well-decorated. Everything was provided and explained by Markus in great detail. Markus was always very welcoming and happy to help in any way possible. The breakfast was freshly made each day and more than adequate. Markus seems to take great pleasure in making people feel at home.

The pillows could have been more comfortable. Everything else was fine.

Comfort, quaint, clean, quiet, cooked breakfast, castle, cute deer!

Good location in quaint Serrig (never heard of it but is itself a non touristy beautiful town to walk/plus near beautiful Sarrig Old Town and Waterfall (worth a half day walk). Pension Schmitz offers great service (though not in English/translate by phone), very good breakfast—And YES you can make sandwiches to go/with bread, meat, cheese! Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. And the neighbors have a deer farm to enjoy—we fed them grass and weeds directly over the Schmitz fence. Oh—and did I mention the CASTLE VIEW over that same fence and from our room… all this for a very fair price! AMAZING!

Beautiful place to stay.

This is probably the nicest bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Beautiful, clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly host (who speaks German), free parking and wonderful breakfast are all here. We enjoy playing cards with the couple we were travelling with and the host allowed us to use the dining room in the evening. He also had an honor bar for drinks in the evening. Gave us very good recommendations for places to eat in nearby towns.

This property is only accessible by car and is in a small town with no restaurants or other facilities but other towns are a short drive away.

Exceptional

If you're looking for a place to stay, look no further. The pension is very beautiful and clean, nice rooms, comfortable beds, and a nice little garden in the back. The host is the nicest I've ever met. He didn't speak English but we had no problem communicating. The breakfast was exceptional; home made bread, croissants, eggs, and freshly grinded coffee from a local roaster. We could even make sandwiches to go. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Quiet location with nice view!

A gem of a place to stay.

Absolutely everything. There was nothing to dislike, the presentation of every aspect was outstanding and the attention to detail was exceptional. The breakfast and the way the table was laid were beyond words and shows how things can be done. Our host was one of the best we have stayed with and is such a lovely man. I would have no hesitation in recommending Pension Schmitz to anybody,.

Excellent séjour !

Notre hôte nous a accueillis chaleureusement, à notre écoute tout au long de notre séjour. Quant au petit déjeuner, il fût conforme à nos attentes, voire au-delà des avis signalés. Les confitures ainsi que les petits pains sont réalisés par votre futur hôte lui-même et leur goût prouve qu'ils les réalisent avec amour.

Perfekter Aufenthalt

Wir waren über ein Wochenende zum Entspannen und Radfahren dort. Es war die perfekte Wahl. Neben den Parkplätzen direkt vor dem Haus gab es zusätzlich einen separaten Fahrradraum mit direktem Zugang. Die Zimmer sind ohne Balkon, dafür gibt es eine große überdachte Terrasse und einen liebevoll angelegten Garten zur Nutzung. Für die Gäste steht ein breites Getränkeangebot zur Selbstbedienung mit angemessenen Preisen und ein Kaffeevollautomat bereit. Unser Zimmer war tipptopp sauber, bequem und besonders die ebenerdige große Dusche haben wir sehr genossen. Das absolute Highlight ist aber zweifellos das Frühstück: Selbstgebackene Brötchen und Croissants, hauseigene Marmeladen, frisches Obst und die qualitativ hochwertigen Produkte. Der Gastgeber ist ein sehr fürsorglicher und ungemein freundlicher Mensch, dem die Wünsche und die Bedürfnisse seiner Gäste ein echtes Anliegen sind. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Markus, der Besitzer, war unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Besonders zu erwähnen ist das hervorragende Frühstück, mit selbstgebackenen Brötchen und Croissants. Auch die Fass-Sauna mit wunderschönem Ausblick hat es uns angetan.
