This is a beautifully designed cottage in a quiet village with a great pub within a short walk. We arrived a couple of days before Christmas to find the downstairs dressed in fairy lights and (very tasteful) Christmas decorations. The cottage is very well provisioned - we cooked for ourselves most nights and found everything we needed. The stocked cupboard and fridge on arrival (with the essentials such as milk, bread and eggs plus a few treats like mince pies) was a lovely surprise. The downstairs shower is exceptional and we enjoyed the hot tub. We didn't need much support while we were there, but when we messaged Martin about emptying the bins, he sorted it within the hour despite it being an exceptionally busy time for him at the pub. All round, we had a wonderful week. It's not cheap (especially being Christmas week) but it felt really special and worth the money.
There is very little that could be done differently to improve Cramwell Cottage. If I were to be very picky, I would say a bigger TV with access to live terrestrial stations would have been appreciated. Do be aware that the stairs are steep, with a tricky couple of steps at the bottom. I actually slipped on them in the dark one night. I would say this property wouldn't suit someone with mobility issues.

Quaint village location. Amazing interior design by Martin! Immaculately clean. Comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen. Good water pressure. Dog friendly. Lots of ‘extras’ included such as milk, bread, cookies, cake & butter on arrival. A great welcome from Karen.
- stairs are quirky & steep! Not suitable for those with mobility issues. Need a photo to show prospective guests.
- Whilst it has 3 bedrooms, the lounge, hot tub, breakfast bar & dining table only seat 4. Cottage is a bit cosy with 6 adults!
- no full length mirror
- no bright light near dressing table to do hair & make-up

Everything, such a cosy and well thought out space. The pub was great as well - lovely food, great service and great atmosphere with friendly locals.
Beds were super comfy.
Nothing - wish we could have stayed longer.

Kitchen facilities and equipment, were brilliant and everything you could realistically hope for were there. Plenty of room for a few budding chefs to get to work.
Cottage was spacious, with 3 nicely sized bedrooms. Upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. Nice private area at rear of cottage to chill out even more and a nice hot tub to relax in.
Cottage is beautifully decorated, with has a lovely style and all the wee copper coloured fairy lights add to the tranquil feel.
Everything was what we hoped for so nothing to gripe about!
A concern had been a lack of photos of the stairs. Although parts may have been tricky, there were nicely thought out banisters/rails, strategically positioned, so there was something to hold onto with either left or right hand where needed.

First class place to stay. It really was just like the photos but with some lovely extra touches too. The hosts were just lovely and the Ley Arms pub just down the road was also great place to eat and drink.
nothing at all

Cramwell was a beautiful home from home. They have literally thought of everything. Check in was quick and easy and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts. The property is beautiful and I would highly recommend it to anything looking for a relaxing break. We loved it so much we have booked to go back in October 😄

Loved the cottage as a whole, especially all the little touches like eggs, bread, butter, dog treats.....everything you need is supplied here.
The pub (that owns the cottage) is one of the nicest pubs in the UK, and the landlords, Martin and Karen, are super friendly......nothing is too much trouble.
Do not hesitate in booking this cottage!!!
Having to leave 😂
