Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll find the completely renovated and modernly designed vacation home Deichherz 1869—a thatched-roof house that combines classic Frisian charm with contemporary design. This spacious home, with a large garden that opens up to an unobstructed view of the marshlands, offers plenty of space and freedom to truly unwind from everyday life. Nestled between a bird sanctuary and fields, its close connection to nature lets you experience the bliss of country living.
The Location
Designed with an eye for detail, the vacation home is situated directly on the Eider dike between Husum and St. Peter-Ording (both 20 minutes by car), in a quiet location outside the village of Oldenswort. It’s an ideal starting point for exploring the beauty of North Frisia and the North Sea in every direction. The nearest shopping and dining options can be found in nearby Tönning.
’s Amenities The interior design blends the old with the new—the furnishings are a mix of modern designer pieces, design classics, collectibles, heirlooms, and custom-made furniture. This, combined with the setting of the old thatched-roof farmhouse—renovated in accordance with historic preservation regulations—makes Deichherz 1869 a distinctive and unique vacation home.
The vacation home’s 140 square meters are spread over two floors. It features two bedrooms (upstairs: 180 x 200; downstairs: 140 x 200), two bathrooms, two living rooms, a designer kitchen, and even an utility room with a washing machine. The high-end kitchen, complete with a kitchen island, is the perfect place to cook in a lively atmosphere and then enjoy a cozy meal inside or on the terrace. The wood-burning stove in the lower living area creates a special, cozy atmosphere. The layout of the rooms also impresses with its many different “quiet corners,” such as the sofa nook with satellite TV or the armchair corner offering a view of the garden and the surrounding countryside.
The large cottage garden, featuring a variety of fruit trees—whose fruit you’re welcome to harvest in season—is fenced in, so your dog can enjoy the vacation too. And in the garden, your sunny and relaxing vacation day will come to a close with a breathtaking sunset.

War insgesamt alles gut...Die Gegend ist sehr schön und SPO, Husum, Friedrichstadt etc . sind mit dem Auto schnell zu erreichen.
Die Stufe im Wohn/Essbereich ist nicht zu sehen...Sturzgefahr...!
Wir hatten sowohl über der Eingangstür als auch neben der Terassentür ein Wespennest und konnten trotz schönem Wetter die Terasse nicht nutzen...wir haben das auch gemeldet darauf gab es leider keine Reaktion...

Dieses historische Reethaus ist wirklich ein Juwel! Mit dem großen, wunderschönen Garten und der tollen, modernen und stilvollen Einrichtung bezauberte es uns sofort.
Die ruhige Lage und die tolle Landschaft vervollständigten die Idylle. Ein wirklich traumhafter Ort, den wir auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen möchten.

Sehr schönes Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet und absolut ruhig gelegen. Der Garten ist sehr gepflegt und einladend. Der Rasen wurde zweimal gemäht solange wir da waren; haben uns abends immer darüber gefreut :-)
Viele Ausflugsziele sind von da aus sehr gut zu erreichen, SPO, Büsum, Husum, Sylt etc.
Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, lediglich ein Mülleimer im Badezimmer wäre noch super. Waschmaschine, Gefrierschrank, Induktionsherd, Nespresso Maschine, Bose Soundlink, einfach super und hochwertig ausgestattet.
Auch für den Hund war alles da; vier Näpfe und ein tolles, großes Hundebett/Korb.
Das WLAN ist nicht ganz optimal, wir hatten für unsere Kids einen mobilen Hotspot dabei.
Auch ist das untere Bett etwas schmal, zwei Kids oder frisch verliebte passen aber super rein ;-)
Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend; wir hatten einen Schaden zu melden was wir völlig kulant und unkompliziert abwickeln konnten.
Wir hatten zwei traumhaft schöne Wochen die trotz durchwachsenem Wetter, dank des großen wohlfühlfaktors im Haus (Tee und Kartenspiel am Feuer ..) lange in Erinnerung bleiben werden.
