A new mattress

It was central for our visit. Very popular and very well run. Loved our room, very clean and comfortable. Staff couldn’t do enough for us.

A little noisy, as we were on the ground floor.

Food was great. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Bed was comfortable. Perfect accommodation for the one night I stayed en route from Scotland to home. I was surprised the staff coped so well given the number of people there that evening, and I didn't have to wait for my evening meal.

I arrived to find the Wellington heaving with families with young children, a BBQ starting up and a singer in the garden. All very noisy and as I was on the ground floor, it wasn't the quiet evening I had hoped for. I wanted a quiet evening meal in the dining room, but had been allocated a table in the bar area with crowds coming in and out, but fortunately, I was moved to another table in the dining room.

The food was very good. Staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Room we had was big.

No fridge in room to keep water chilled. No water supplied only on arrival. This was not a problem as we always take plenty of bottled water with us. Stayed here a few years ago and feel like cleanliness in dining area has gone a bit downhill. Had to try to find a chair that the seat wasn’t covered in stains but most chairs were very dirty. Everything stuck to the tables including my daughter’s elbows which had the skin ripped off ( are healing now). Now I know this is due to the cleaner that is sprayed on tables to clean them but please cover the tables with a suitable surface(wooden tables not suitable) at one time the waitress had trouble removing the teapot as it had stuck fast.
