HI Hostel Dubrovnik

✅ Beds were comfortable ✅ Bathrooms were clean (although female showers only in one area and on the level below) ✅ Nice patio area ✅ Cheapest accommodation i could find in Dubrovnik and worth the walk out of the old town for it

⚠️ Kitchen non-existent so can’t cook for yourself and tiny fridge so can’t really store food either ⚠️ Location is 20min walk from old town (up lots of steps) ⚠️ Staff at checkin desk was very difficult to understand and the directions I’d been given for the bus were incorrect which meant i walked to the bus station at 6am

It was quiet, had air conditioning, and I slept very comfortably.

It was one of the lesser expensive places around. There are a few restaurants and bars 15 min or so walking. Staff was nice at reception. There is a nice little beach area 5-10 minutes away and a really great take out sushi place.

They hosted a field trip or something of the sort and at 1 am a slew of teenagers were SO LOUD. Slamming doors, laughing and shouting down the hallways. And no one seemed to reign them in. There were no activities or social aspects. The common area was HOT HOT. The AC was never on in the cafeteria. Wifi was not great. It isn't a great place if you want to work while traveling. The room was clean enough but I had to look under the bed for something and I noticed no one has cleaned under there for a while. It is pretty far from town.

The facilities provided are reasonable but I would argue in terms of value for money. For obvious reasons, if you just need a decent place to spend your night(s), it is okay.

Wifi did not work on any floor (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and hence, it was disappointing to be paying for an unavailable facility. No elevator/lift at the property making it difficult to access the upper floors.
