Beautiful place, clean, calm place near the jungle, beautiful view, great villa, friendly host.
Many ants. (All you need is some insect repellent - the jungle)

The rooms are nice, good level comfort, beautiful jungle surrounding, the style of the property is really unique and cool to see and experience... Looks like an old, authentic temple/monastery turned into modern housing, mix of both worlds..
The place is too remote... It's far from everything, even Gojek doesn't operate there...

All the terrace made me feel in the middle of the jungle but with great facilities to have a good rest. The staff was very welcome and attentive to any enquiry. In addition they introduced me a very friendly tour guide and driver (Balun), so I could had a private tour with someone know a lot about the area, culture and good things to do.
It is a little far away so you depend on rent transport or taxis.

The villa was beautiful in the jungle. The couple from the villa, Eko and Lill, were wonderful people and took care of all our needs perfectly.
The breakfast was very pure but tasty. The room smelled of mold... of course, the humidity in the space was extreme, so I believe a dehumidifier would really help—both for drying clothes and improving the overall atmosphere. Also, there were large gaps in the doors and windows, which allowed many insects to come inside from outside!

Remote location with stunning views.
Good for short stays.
Very far (1h by car) from Ubud and other attractions.
Hard to get a taxi/grab.
The driver that the hotel recommends asked 3x the price of taxi/grab app.

Stunning location looking into the forest. Views from our villa were just perfect. Beautiful pool. The staff was super friendly and kind.
The bed was a bit hard.
A bit far from ubud (40min by car) and grabs don't arrive there.

A real hidden gem. A beautiful area with very kind hosts. There is also a dog - a SWEETHEART that made our stay. The rooms are beautiful and clear. The only minus was a very limited choice of food for breakfast. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to escape from reality and noise.

This place is absolute magic. How it's not sold out every night is beyond me, it is truly so special. The moment you walk through the front gates you get a wash of peacefulness that only increases as you walk the property. The grounds are spectacular, the pool is spectacular, my villa was so nice that I had imposter syndrome staying there. I trulyyyy can't speak highly enough of this place.
I will say this - I have traveled the world and stayed in some pretty wonderful places, I can't remember another time that a place made me feel this lucky.
(PS I recommend ear plugs for bed time, you are the thick of a lush jungle)

Perfect place to stay to relax and escape the busy side of bali - this property is a hidden gem. You can get everything you need on this property (excellent food, massages, laundry etc.) No need to leave this amazing hotel if you don‘t want to. Free water, comfortable common space and amazing pool and lounges! Great Wifi and Taxi driver available and super friendly, just like the rest of the staff.

fantastic view and idyllic hotel. Breakfast minimalistic but ok. when the owner visited the facility, the staff also exchanged the old ones for fresh flowers. Owner does not even greet his guests and the staff disappears when we leave. too bad, I would have expected some help with luggage transport or at least a goodbye. it could have been a nice stay

magic ! I loved it and there was great wi-fi, I had several zoom calls a day - no interruptions ! the view is stunning ! I really recommend it to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet and beauty all around!
the location is far away from restaurants etc. make sure you have a bike or bring some of your own food (there is a fridge) . the food that they serve is also good, healthy and organic, I think I lost a couple of kilos because I had no access to junk food 😂

The swimming pool water was needed to be purified. TV was not worked.

The view from the pool and our room is absolutely one in a million. We had a really big room. We stayed with two adults and two children. The place is really remote from anything else so outside you have your local supermarkets and warungs.. as basic as it could be! Really worth the try! A woman made nasi goreng for us with sate ajam! And it was great!
.. unfortunely they do not have a completely good quality bed. If you book your room with two children. Luckely they are still little so they could get their sleep on one mattress.
The beauty of it is that is is really remote, but that is also the downside. If you would like to go and visit some place it is difficult to find a driver... or they overcharge you...

The property is in a such a quiet location, very peaceful. There are only 3 villas there and that makes it a private experience. Staff were super helpful and friendly, made sure we had the best possible stay there. 6 breakfast options available(local and international), made on the spot and all of them delicious.
If you like to relax it’s a perfect place to stay!
it’s not really something bad, but close to the property there is nothing much to see, just a small village with a couple of shops selling basic essentials. But it makes a great local experience away from all touristic places.

Noisy during the night because of frogs.

Gorgeous jungle views in the main area, a beautiful private terrace looking out into the jungle, very large room. I believe only 2 other villas spread out on the entire property, did not see any other guests, which can be refreshing IF you you're trying to escape the chaos of Bali. Sorry to say, thats about it.
Slow service, extremely limited food options, and not very good in terms of taste & flavour, which is a big thing because generally, this is done very well in 90% of places in Bali. The geographical location is a bit deceiving and gives the impression you're close enough to go off the villa to do things of interest to you. But no, it's FAR from EVERYTHING. Once you get there, unless you've scheduled a driver to take you around, you're stuck there. This may not be a bad thing if you just want to stay in the villa and relax, but with the limited food options and activities to do in the immediate area, you'll want to head out, which is very difficult. The room once again has an amazing view, and it's a huge room, but that's where it ends really. The room has not been maintained well. The doors do not close properly, and the ones that do close have unreasonably large gaps between the door and the floor or the locking mechanism, which leads to more bugs and insects coming in than you'd want. It's understandable being in the jungle, you'll get some of this, which is fine, and reasonable to expect, to an extent. But when the door in the washroom that separates the garden (with a pond right in front the door) from your shower & toilet has a 5 to 10 CM gap, it's not really stopping anything. Many frogs came in, some roaches, and lizards. The lizards are small, not intimidating, and cute, but they're annoying to deal with as there were pebbles of feces scattered all over the floor every time we left to come back a few hours later. The bathroom door did not even close properly, it was so bad it was the one thing they had to come in and somewhat fix. Stains on the drapes and bed sheets as well. Beautiful location & could be so good with some care & love.

I stay with my family and it was simply amazing. The place is incredibly beautiful, surrounded by nature. The staff was super nice and we had delicious dinners for a very good price.
I highly recommend this place if you want to experience the real Bali.

If a silent retreat is just not your thing but you love privacy and nature, then Toya Retreat Villa is the perfect place to stay. The location is so peaceful and serene, with great views of the valley. The set-up is very spacious and beautifully decorated. The space we had for ourselves exceeded our expectations. At night you're greeted by a loud concert of frogs, etc. so bring earplugs if needed. There are no restaurants or other facilities in the area, but Toya serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food served/presentation is not restaurant quality, more like a good home-cooked meal, which definitely has its charms. Spa facilities are available inside your room, I booked a delightful massage. We also booked a sightseeing tour, there's so much to see in the surroundings. The Balinese family who now host the place is lovely and are still finding their way and making improvements. I'm sure Toya will be even better in the near future.

This accommodation has the most beautiful view I have ever stayed with. I didn't want to leave. The room was large and beautiful and very peaceful. We were the only ones staying at the resort at the time and food was made to our request. Such a lovely experience!
Bugs could get into the room through the door however the bed had a mosquito net so it was okay.

Villa Hanoman has a spectacular jungle view, breakfast was good, wonderful infinity pool. Massage available in room or open-air. Hosts are wonderful.
You need to rent a scooter or car to get to restaurants or visit cities (hosts can help you with renting).
But overall, great experience. Terima Kasih!
