Easy booking, friendly receptionist

Not worth what we paid for one night. Very outdated. Limited parking - we were able to park using the office parking at the back as the hotel parking was all full.

Lovely staff, room adequate and clean. Food in the restaurant/bar is great.

layout of the rooms which are motel style, are quite a walk from the car park for some. Breakfast is not served til 8am on weekends so if you have an early start don't book breakfast.

Comfortable, warm rooms, very clean, good breakfast, friendly service. Great location for events at OEC, Hillsborough, etc.

This hotel is more like a home from home, with a good sized room and comfortable.

I had difficulty with the TV

the receptionist who checked me in was very polite and welcoming, its nice to see that again.

the radiators weren't warming up, not sure if there was a switch or if they come on automatically both the bathroom and 1 in the room itself however i put the electric heater which you had in the room which i never expected which was actually quite decent so i managed to stay nice and warm throughout,

Main light didn’t work and one of lamps flickered. I didn’t report until check out as I wasn’t in the room too much before my night out. They would have fixed otherwise

Room was too hot, no fan in the bathroom, room service was poor - for arrival didn't leave adequate items for tea/coffee facilities, 1st full day didn't clean our room even though we were out for over 5 hours!! Reception staff were very helpful but really should have been right

In my opinion what I paid was a bit expensive given the quality and location.

Central location, very clean with fabulous staff who were so kind and accommodating. I encountered issues due to my disability and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely lady on reception.

Front desk staff were amazing. The woman who served us couldn't have been more helpful, even though she had a serious issue to deal with at the time of our check-in.

There was a wedding the night of our stay, we were not wedding guests. My parents stayed in another room and booked breakfast,. My parents told me, and I overheard other guests complaining that the room for breakfast had not been cleaned and tidied after the wedding, so it was not a nice place to have breakfast. You could smell stale cigarette smoke in the room, there were dirty ashtrays dotted around directly outside the rooms. Smoking should not be permitted so close to the rooms.

Car park was full as there was a football match on so couldn’t park should be reserved for hotel use Walls was very thin and you could her everything and the room was very cold but they did give us a heater to put in our room Asked if we could book a meal said no because they had a wedding party booked asked about breakfast was told to come back at 9 in the morning and they would see if they could fit us in we didn’t bother we got up early and left

Cleaners came in daily and Alysia was very helpful in alerting me when she noticed my car boot was open!

Room smelled of stale cigarette smoke

I liked the way the rooms were set out, no long corridors. Also liked the historical character of the building. Breakfast was good but the continental had been depleted and not refreshed. I would of enjoyed fruit and yoghurt but none left! Also the dining room was strewn with party streamers from the night before. Generally speaking it was okay and had comfortable beds and a good location for us.

It was just slightly tired looking and it was understaffed. Waited ages at the bar to get served as the staff were elsewhere.

It served purpose and was a bed for the night.

It reminded me of a schools trip when i was young. The place is dated, when we arrived the bar was closed and there was no food which we didn’t know about. We had to go out to find food but the only place local was a kebab shop. Although the bed was comfy, and it was clean, and the reception and breakfast person were nice, it was very very dated and not what i had planned. Breakfast we were the only people there and the breakfast room was dated too and cold feeling. If you want a cheap bed for the night it serves purpose, but if you want any luxury, i wouldn’t bother.

The historical aspect. Interesting layout. The chef bent over backwards to make sure my dietary needs were met for dinner. He came out and spoke to me personally.

It was old and tired. Very dated bedrooms. Reception was shut when I arrived and I had to wait for the receptionist to come back from a vape break. If she had to tend to a customer, it mean locking reception.

Staff were pleasant. Room was ok but very cold.

Room could have been warmer. Not sure if it was cleaned, cups were washed but bed was not made no spare toilet roll was left despite the fact we had put the spare one on the holder as the one on the holder run out as little left on it. We had had some scam text prior to visiting, I kept these to show at reception. We were told it had all been sorted. Would have been nice to receive an email to this effect prior to visit. We were told on arrival that there was a gaming convention so breakfast had been changed to 7am - 9am for the weekend. Ok fine. Saturday morning not too bad very busy but it did not seem staff could cope as there was no choice of breakfast as such. Full english or Full English. This was not very well presented. Mushrooms well half small mushroom looked very old. Bacon was cold and hard, getting tea or coffee was a nightmare as so many queing for machine!! Did not appear to be enough staff working. The following morning Sunday we arrived for breakfast at 8,30am. There was no table available nor laid to accomodate us. One member of staff was surprised there were residents in!!! we were put on a bare wood table. Again only full english BUT it was'nt. There was no sausage, bacon again was cold and hard, mushroom half looked awful. Tea and coffee no cups we had to wait for them. By the time we were ready for toast only one slice of white bread and one slice of brown bread left. No staff about by this time to ask. Everything was cleared off the counters by 9am but given that we had to wait for somewhere to sit etc That was our breakfast with a two hour journey to make home. Far from impressed. On Saturday evening we rang to get drinks to our room but it was permanently engaged and so that was unsuccessful.

The property is in need of some care and attention. The room wasn’t as clean as it should be.
