Palazzo Starace

The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was centrally located on the main corridor of Sorrento, within easy walking distance to all of Sorrento. Excellent location!

We were not aware that there is not an elevator in this hotel. They have a lift for luggage; however, we had to climb 70 stairs to get to our room every day. The website looked like it had a rooftop terrace and provided breakfast in house; however, the "terrace" is extremely small (4 people at most) and closed off. They no longer serve breakfast but give a voucher for a limited breakfast at the restaurant next door which doesn't open until 8:30am. This was too late for some mornings because we had tours that started at 8:00. Staff was not on site much of the time.

The staff were lovely, and tried their best to be helpful. The overall experience was fine, with good aircon, wifi, and excellent soundproofing from the balcony windows. The room was attended to every day, and was ceratinly value for money, taking into account it's very central position. Thankfully there was a basket-lift for luggage to go up the 3 storeys, while we climbed the 70 steps to our floor.

I'm afraid that I think it was Booking . Com that caused the issue since I was convinced that there was breakfast available due to the photos on the site. My overall experience of using Booking . Com was great... the offered flights coordinating with our selected dates was really helpful, and everything went really smoothly. Unfortunately I took the odd little sentnce about "no meals being selected with this booking" to mean Lunch or Dinner. But since it's called Bed and Breakfast (and still has this on the door into the actual room) and the photos showed multiple people seated either on the balcony or in the breakfast room I was happy to think I had secured breakfasts for us. It wasn't a huge blight on the holiday as Sorrento is well stocked with smaller coffee houses and a good central supermarket, and it was certainly a very good price, but I feel it should just have the images corrected. Also, you do have to be more than just mobile to manage the staircase!

Convenient location

Staff unresponsive to several requests. One standout - Marguerite was great!

Location was nice, had family room and it was good size for my group. Loved the little balcony that looked out over the street. Beds were comfortable.

The bathroom was small, the toilet flusher was broken so it was hard to flush, toilet seat not secure and wobbled, shower was tiny and no bath mat available so water got all over floor.
