this is definitely a place with character and special. i kind of liked the squeaky floors, and the weird feeling of being in a stranger's big old slightly fraying mansion. the rooms were clean and the bed comfortable and the price was obviously good, in a town where everything else is very expensive...
this is clearly more a boarding house then a hotel. there is a note in the room, for example, asking that one does not use the communal shower after 9pm so as not to make noise, which is a little strange. communication is minimal and not particularly friendly, and the rooms are hot for sleeping.. perhaps the biggest surprise for me was how many stairs there are from the train station to get here: A LOT. im in shape but i was seriously winded once i climbed up here with my heavy rug sack...

You better have no suitcase coming from the train station: the climb is steep. The walls are thin.

Awesome house and atmosphere, close to the train station, great beds
No private toilet as expected and only one toilet to share on the floor. No hot water - and we had payed extra to upgrade for a bath tub : ( Beware the accomodation is situated on a hill, so its a steep path with your luggage to get there
