It's a bit noisy so you hear anyone moving on upper and on your floor. But it's also well described, so I expected that

We enjoyed that the house was in a residential section and that so much of it was in its original condition…lots of wood

Perfect for conference stay or exploring city

Small bedroom with desk, perfect for conference stat. 15 mns walk from the university. No noise insulation but the other tenants were quiet and respectful. Shared bathroom and kitchen.

Lovely fore a few nights.

Very interesting old building. Amazing green garden and pasway to the entrance. It’s old with a lot of historical features.

A bit warm in summer but thank goodness it cool douw quickly in the avenging with all the windows open.

Beautiful view from the window - I had the single room at the top of the house. Comfortable room. Best value for St Gallen. Great to have access to a kitchen. Easy access to the train station, which was great.

I didn't quite read the small print re one shower & separate toilet to 5 rooms, which was my own fault. It mostly worked out ok and was the trade off for the cheaper price, but another toilet would have been good :)

Amazing hotel, fantastic location.

Gorgeous location. Lots of facilities, even a bbq if you want to use it. Shower was nice as was toilet and room had a basin which was great. Shared lounge had free coffee which was very nice.

Very charming room

The room is very charming and cute, and good value compared to other places in Switzerland. It’s a big room with a great view of the town and surrounding trees

The stairs to the attic room are very steep and the toilet is quite far away if you need it in the middle of the night. The wifi was also a bit patchy.

Steps up were very steep and didn’t realise until after first journey that you can cut right up winkelriedstrasse and then back left up Zwinglistrasse which is much easier with a heavy case

Affordable and comfortable stay

Good location, about 8 minutes walk from the train station (keep in mind all uphill/stairs if you have lots of luggage). They were able to accommodate early bag storage for me which allowed me a lot longer to explore before check in. I was surprised to have the tower room, which had a Birds Eye view of the city. The house has lots of charm and is a cool place to stay. The shared shower room and toilet room were not a problem (just no sink in the toilet room). The host was readily reachable by phone to instruct me how to get in for check in.

While check-in and check-out still went smoothly, the host may not be on the property when you are checking in. There was a 10-15 minute delay in me checking in as I had to call a couple of times to reach the host, but once I did they were able to provide instruction and key codes. Just keep in mind if you aren't familiar at all with the area, might not have phone access, or prefer more set instructions on check ins! Overall not a problem for me.

It was nice for a couple days in St Gallen.

Very nice staff, close to the station and transport with plenty to do in the area. The house itself is lovely, and having the kitchen facilities is a big help with the cost of food, etc. in Switzerland. Wifi is solid and reliable.

The bed was a bit too soft for my back to be happy, but that's a me problem. Humidity is not a small room with only one window's friend, which is out of the house's control.

Great location and nice quiet house.

• Very nice house only a 5 minute walk from the train station. • It had a nice communal kitchen with a stove and oven which was very useful for cooking. • Our room had a bath which was lovely. • The furniture was nice and the view from the window was good. • The landlady was very friendly.

In the bathtub the “hot” water tap releases cold water, and the “cold” water tap releases hot water. This left me confused and I had to ask for help because I didn’t realise. An easy fix. Although cutlery and cooking tools were provided, we didn’t have any glasses for water.

Location is perfect, bed very comfortable, everything was super clean and the communication with the owner was smooth. As well, everything as described in the description.

Beautiful secluded villa

Staying in a 120 year old building which is quite well maintained was an experience. The host really takes very good care of you. The surroundings are full of trees and it seems like living secluded in a forest.

The climb up (if walking from the train station) is painful. Although located very near to the station and marketplace, the climb is a little deterrent.

Nice house, but we had only cold water for our bath

No private toilet as expected and only one toilet to share on the floor. No hot water - and we had payed extra to upgrade for a bath tub : ( Beware the accomodation is situated on a hill, so its a steep path with your luggage to get there

I really enjoyed my stay at Villa Bergruh, it has all facilities I needed. The location is perfect as it is very close to the university. It is also a great place to feel the astmosphere of St.Gallen.

Location was suitable for me, I was in a conferens in Open Museum. Sort walk to center of the city, to old town, nice and peaceful location. If you move by walk, you must be in good condition because of location big above of he center. Host was a nice and polite man.

Only thing I missed was privat toilet. But it wasn't really a big problem.

It was convenient and the owners are very nice! Trying their best to make you feel comfy.

There was no breakfast included. The room was nice also there was a cozy Livingroom for guests. Which can be used by guests staying in 3 rooms on one floor upstairs.Kitchenette which is nice. With microwave, stove, oven, hot water kettle, coffee maker. Pots, pans, plates, cups etc all provided. Shared shower and toilet. It’s spacious and close to everything!

The walls are very thin. The floors are noisy to walk on. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
