A good spot to land

Getting in the front door was easy. The stairs were a little tricky for old me and my big feet. The room had what I most needed and the bed was very comfortable.

One floor lower would have been better for me. I just didn't know better.

Probably the most affordable accommodation in the city center.

The location is truly wonderful. The bed, linens, and towels are great. Our room is a stylish replica of an old house. The kids' attic room was much simpler. Parking is very close, just across the road. Very convenient, but the price is 25CHF per day.

Having a shared bathroom is, of course, a compromise. On our floor, the bathroom and toilet were separated, and the toilet was very small and uncomfortable. The bathroom had double sinks, but only one had hot water. The shutters on one of the windows in the room were missing. But the worst thing was the incredibly creaky floor, both in the room and in the common area. The soundproofing was simply terrible. The neighbors came in shortly after eleven, when we were already asleep. We had to wake up.

Get ready to stay in a building that creaks while trying to talk to you :)

Affordable prices compared to other hotels in the area, with parking available for those arriving by car and a location close to the city center. However, this is Switzerland, and nothing is cheap, including parking. You might consider spending the approximately 30 euros you would pay for one night on a real hotel with parking.

Be prepared to use the restroom in one part of the building and wash your hands in a completely different part when someone tries to talk to you :) The building is extremely old and creaks with every move you make :) When we entered the room, the earplugs by the bedside were practically an alarm signal—yes, the soundproofing is non-existent (because this isn't a hotel). My biggest disappointment was with the bathroom, and part of the responsibility for this lies with booking.com layout: the fact that the room has a shared bathroom is not mentioned in the hotel's summary and is hidden in the hotel's description, so you need to pay attention to this.

Large, comfortable and very clean room in a convenient location (a few steps from the old city). Friendly owner who promptly helped me out in the late evening when I couldn't find the check-in information.

Ok for once.

Had a small room under the roof on the third floor. After some days of heat in St. Gallen no chance to cool the room with only a small window. If you have a light sleep not recommandable, simply loud all night.

Try to get the room on the picture. The others in the attic are not to recommend.

Excellent location (15 minutes from the train station by walk), large room, common kitchen and fridge facilities, it was very clean, and warm. Staff was very supportive.

It was upstairs, so consider staircase if you have bags, and the mattress could be firmer.

Pleasant, but some things could change like the uncovered bathroom window next to the shower.

The cleaning lady was really kind and opened hhe foor to me earlier because i arrived earlier. Also the location was very good and the room size. The room was cozy and beautifully decorated.

Unfortunately the bathroom was not private and also there was an uncovered window exactly were the shower was. So I felt pretty exposed all the time.

An average place at great but noisy location

- The facility was very clean and accessible. - Free coffee and functional kitchen.

- Our room was on the 3rd floor. If you have luggage, you will have a tough time dragging it through the narrow staircase. - The whole apartment creaks and needs repairs. Every step and every door makes a lot of noise. - The bed and pillows were too soft and not at all comfortable. I got a backache in 2 nights. - The area, in general, is very noisy.

The shared bathroom wasn't clearly advertised and the room wasn't as it was presented in the ad. Overall, it wasn't worth the money because I could have got a room in a hotel for a similar price. Since the kitchen, bathroom etc. are shared, but you don't really know the host, it's very anonymous and a bit weird to know that there are other people living there as well.

location is great

while it is in the description. it was not obvious for us that the facilities were shared (bathroom). we would not have picked it if we had known. we were on the top floor (attic) with sloping ceilings so you had to be walking bending down most of the time not to hit your head.

Location is good.

Stairs without lift, we have big suitcases. Room is smaller than expected and was not very clean, had to share bathroom and the couple next door occupied the toilet early in the morning for quite long. The pillows were thin and small, very uncomfortable! Overall, for the same price I would just stay in a hotel.

The room was fine and the facilities were clean, good location.

The sound insulation between the rooms was terrible such that you could hear a person through the wall unzipping a suitcase. I had to go upstairs at midnight to ask the guests above me to turn off their music.

there was a marihuana shop in the building, right in te entry isle, and it cause me a bad overall impression of the place… I understand that it is an old building, and that wood can be noisy, but a little bit of oil in the door hinges would help a lot.

Very clean, beautiful and comfortable guest house. You can have what ever you need, so this is so important in such expensive country like Switzerland. so, you have cozy beds, fridge, coffee machine with capsules, and you can have even this capsules for this cool price. You have a kitchen and can cook. You have very friendly English speaking master who can help you at any time. So we were very happy with this place. The city is amazing. 100 m from accommodation there is a parking.
