Al Massimo Piacere

The location is obviously fantastic, there’s probably nothing better in the whole of Palermo! The house is beautifully furnished, looks painfully restored with aim at preserving the traditional features of the building. The rooms are simply fabulous - you could literally pretend like you’ve traveled back in time (except with A/C 😁). They’re also very spacious, well insulated from the street below and with plenty of storage. The real gem of this stay is the host though; she can surely make visitors feel welcome! And hearing her (a former art history professor) talk about her place with pride is a joy. On a practical level, a secure parking garage is very close and easy to reach. WiFi is reliable, and you have access to the apartment’s kitchen if you feel like making yourself a coffee or a simple meal.

Gabriella, provide the rooms with more than one roll of toilet paper for bookings longer than one night, please 😂

Built in 1869!!! Amazing family feel! Common room, kitchen and air con was awesome! Gabriella knows her stuff and was super welcoming and fabulous.

It was so central and across the road from Teatro Massimo. Rooms were huge and clean and everything was perfect for my husband and adult son staying there for a few nights. Would highly recommend this apartment to book for your stay in Palermo.

The stairs leading up to the apartment were steep and a lot of stairs. Definitely not for the faint hearted or elderly people with any disability.

Felt like we were staying in a Sicilian Palace!! So beautiful and artistic. View from the balcony towards Teatro Massimo is excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Very handy location to restaurants. Great facilities.

We wanted to use the air-conditioning in the common area but it kept getting switched off. If we don't leave it on for a bit the common area won't cool down, making it hard for guests to sit in that area and enjoy. We landed up staying in our room.
