We (2 adults, a 3 year old child and a 5 year old dog) had a wonderful stay at Farthing Cottage. We were pleasantly surprised when we opened up the cottage door and found such a lovely place, the photos don’t do it justice! Our dog loved lying on the stone floor to keep cool (it has underfloor heating in the winter so she’d probably love it then too). The kitchen has everything you could possibly think of and the welcome basket was very generous. There are beaches within a 10 minute drive. We will definitely come again and explore the area more. We also need to try out the village pub for a meal - make sure you call and book in advance as they were fully booked on the day we wanted to go last minute.

Truly dog (and puppy) friendly. We felt we could truly relax here and enjoy our holiday. Everything you could think of needing while on holiday with your dog here was provided and with the hot weather this week, the paddling pool, the cooling mat and the multiple fans were amazing. The dogs loved stretching out on the cool floor and chilling out in the garden. For us knowing there was a vax carpet cleaner and a mop for any puppy accidents was a weight off our minds. The carpet upstairs is plush and the beds are super comfortable to sleep in. The bedding was pristine. Great location for a quick drive to the beach and walks from the front door to explore the village and its surroundings. Owner Caroline incredibly accommodating and friendly.

We love this beautiful cottage, so clean and welcoming with so many extra touches. Lots of lovely places to visit, everything you need for a perfect holiday. The welcome pack was amazing. East Ruston Cottages and Caroline the owner of Farthing Cottage really did go the extra mile to help with our epileptic dog and carried out their cleaning schedule to meet his needs. We had the perfect weather and the perfect cottage.

My dogs and I had a lovely time at Farthing Cottage and the surrounding beaches. The cottage was so thoughtfully provided for multiple dogs and doggy owners in terms of bowls, crates, furniture throws, even ramps and gates. Pretty much any possible needed dog accessories were supplied. The dog and owner welcome packs were also amazing, including nearly a week's breakfast stocked in the fridge by the very generous owner Caroline! The cottage itself was clean, bright, and very secure with a small fenced-in back garden for dogs, a very well-stocked kitchen for cooking, upstairs and downstairs bathrooms, WIFI, and TVs in lounge and bedrooms. The location was excellent, being roughly only a 10 minute drive to dog-friendly Mundesley Beach and around a 20 minute drive to other nearby beaches. The only setback was having to be extra mindful of barking dogs with neighbours next door, but this is the situation with most residential areas and was easily overcome once dogs settled into such a lovely holiday cottage and were able to enjoy good daily exercise running free on the nearly empty beaches. I would also warn drivers to drive slowly on the small country lanes in the area and to watch out for hidden Give Way signs which are placed much above eye-level and often blocked by low-hanging trees, including two intersections very near the cottage. Satnav signals can also be lost in the general vicinity, so I was lucky to have been using three satnavs at once on my return journey, with WAZE seeming to have been best able to catch signals when the normal vehicle and Tomtom satnav signals became lost- otherwise I might still be driving around aimlessly trying to return home! Overall, however, a fantastic holiday during a week of beautiful weather. Thank you, Caroline and ERC, for such a dog-friendly holiday stay!
