It was an absolute joy to stay at Toine and Mega’s. The location is as it’s shown with peaceful, uninterrupted views of the plantation - add in spectacular songbird and the sound of the stream gushing below the property - so relaxing. The tent is beautifully fitted out with coffee/tea set-up and interesting details crafted in bamboo by Toine himself - check out the toilet roll holder in the open air bathroom! Walking through the rice fields and the village with Toine and Mega gave us the opportunity to witness daily life in Bali, not just as tourists but as visitors. Toine and Mega are received with smiles and open arms wherever they go and are doing some amazing work supporting their community. Be sure to book dinner - Mega’s cooking is delicious and all ingredients are local and super fresh! Thank you Toine and Mega!!

Magnificent stay! It felt like coming home from the moment we arrived. Mega and Toine give hospitality a whole new meaning; everything feels warm, sincere, and effortless. And the food… we couldn't imagine it being better. That's how special it was!
We miss your beautiful little paradise already; we'll be back soon!

Sanda is a hidden paradise, and this place is an absolute gem. 4 nights flew by nestled in nature and with delicious home cooked meals. Camping without skipping the pampering. I'm so grateful to have found this place and spent time with all of the lovely people who make it happen-- they set the bar higher than any 5☆ resort I've stayed at when it comes to hospitality. I was completely blown away by the care and effort put in to shopping for and special preparing vegan meals because I casually mentioned the preference. Every breakfast and dinner was comprised of multiple courses of all different cuisines that were absolutely delicious, and the company from my hosts was even better. I was, at most, hoping for vegan milk to make delicious lattes with the best coffee I tried in Bali! Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️. The waterfall nearby is also stunning and worth a visit.
Nothing!

The stay itself was magical. Surrounded by lush greenery, we fell asleep to the chorus of insects and awoke to birdsong and the gentle murmur of the river winding through the valley. Watching the mist rise at dawn and dusk felt like a quiet, sacred ritual.
The food was a highlight—each meal lovingly prepared by our incredible hosts, Mega and Yusuf. “May I come in?” became the most anticipated phrase of the day, signaling another unforgettable feast made with heart.
The tours they arranged were full of joy and discovery: we chased waterfalls, swam in peaceful pools untouched by crowds, picked fresh fruits and vibrant flowers, and played with goats in the barn. But beyond the activities, what stood out most was the warmth and sincerity of the people we met—hospitality so genuine it transcended language.
One of the most meaningful parts of the trip came toward the end, when Mega and Yusuf brought us to visit elders and members of the local community to share food and spend time together. It was a deeply moving experience—one that reminded us that travel can be more than sightseeing. It can be a way to connect, to give back, and to share in the simple but powerful joy of human kindness. In that moment, all differences—of language, culture, and background—disappeared, and what remained was a true sense of shared humanity.
And just when we thought the journey couldn’t get any more special, Mega and Yusuf surprised us on our final evening with a traditional ceremonial dance performed by two young girls in the tent. It was an incredibly touching and joyful moment—an expression of cultural pride and heartfelt appreciation that left us in awe. We felt not just welcomed, but honored to witness such a beautiful gesture, one that made the spirit of the place shine even more brightly.
We are deeply grateful for this experience, and we know with certainty: we will return.

Our favorite stay is Bali! Not touristy at all! Yusuf and his wife will cook you breakfast and diner every day, and believe us, best food in Bali! :) the tent is amazing. Small but it has everything you need! And the views are just amazing! The hosts can give you good travel advices and helps you with everything! They have a little paradise on earth :)
On day when we went on a sunrise hike we tried to sleep during the day, and the tent gets a bit too hot during the day. Otherwise, everything is perfect :)

We absolutely loved our stay here. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt absolutely pampered and privileged. The accomodation (which in other places might have been marketed as 'luxury treehouse') is very well designed with great views. The endless amenities are of high quality. The complete barista station to brew your own locally sourced coffee is a great addition. The dinner was among the nicest we've had on Bali and the breakfast was impressive too.
The jeep tour of the area and waterfalls was very enjoyable as well.
I do recommend to spend more time here than we did, a minimum of two nights to fully appreciate this place.
We should've stayed longer.

I stayed in Indonesia and travelled around for the month, this was by far my favourite place.
The place was amazing, comfortable, unique, well designed, had everything you needed. The view and surroundings were unbelievably beautiful.
Both hosts (Toine and Mega) were so welcoming and facilitating and the food... was no joke, the best meal OF MY LIFE!
My only regret is only
booking one night. But i will most definitely visit every time I'm back in Indonesia. I have recommended to ppl I met along the way, friends and family.
Highest of recommendations.

Unbelievable, I think is the only word that can describe the experience of staying at “Sanda Plantation Hideaway”.
An experience that beats any other hotel/cabin/place that we have stayed at. It gives an incredible peace and quiet, to fall asleep to the rippling of the river, the sound of wild chickens and cicadas. "Less is more" characterizes the place, and yet the quality of the individual things, like the shower, expresso machine and food levels above anything else we have tried. If you are interested in craftsmanship class, right down to the smallest details, then the place is worth a visit, just for that reason.
The view from the terrace is amazing and everyone you meet on walks in the area is very welcoming, friendly, and at least as genuinely interested in you as you are in them. We are far, far away from the tourists' normal visiting areas.
The couple Mega and Toine are incredibly friendly, hospitable and welcoming. At times, you feel treated more like friends than paying guests.
The food is a chapter unto itself, made from local organic ingredients, which are catered for.
If you like nature, authenticity and simplicity, book at least 2 nights. If you're more into beach parties, tourist shops and sleeping in to the sound of rumbling trucks, find somewhere else.

Loved everything! Start end end with our wonderful hosts, Mega and Toine; they are delightful and went out of their way to assure that every detail of our stay was perfect. Mega is a wonderful cook; our breakfasts and dinners were both delicious and interesting! The magic tent is Toine’s creation, and it is a dream. not only is it beautiful - it functions beautifully as well. From the moment you walk in and see the rice fields through the front of the tent you know it will be hard to leave, even for a beautiful walk. (And the walk down the tiny road IS beautiful.) We spent almost every moment on the tree-house deck, just mesmerized by the beauty around us. At first, being a woman of a certain age, I was concerned that having the charming bathroom a flight below the main floor might be an issue but it was not at all. The stairs down are well-lit, and there is a railing. The bed is very comfortable, the reading lights perfect, the tea pot and cups lovely - and there is even an espresso machine! In other words, Sanda Plantation is perfect if you like beauty and peace and quiet. We look forward to going back.

I booked this place as a ‘treat’ on a long journey from north to south and ‘treat’ is very much a word that describes the whole experience of staying in this incredible place. The structure and tent that you get to stay in is absolutely stunning and just has the most incredible energy to it, the view is breathtaking and the bed is super comfy - best I’ve slept on my trip so far. The little touches, like the coffee machine, local coffee and loose leaf tea, and the sink, shower, make the whole place feel so luxurious while still being close to nature. The hosts could not have been more hospitable and helpful, while still giving you space to enjoy your stay. And the food…oh my! I’m vegan and they couldn’t have done more to not only cater for me, but give me one of the most delicious meals of my life, enjoyed under the stars on the deck. And the locally sourced delicious breakfast was amazing too. They also went out of their way to find me soy milk so I could use the coffee machine. I can’t recommend this place enough.

This was by far our most favourite part of our trip where we rested well but also had great fun and learned a lot about the culture.
It is a luxurious tent, exactly like in the pictures facing this amazing view of the jungle and rice terraces which was a delight to wake up to.
Every little detail has been thought of, the bed was comfortable, there is mosquito/insect repellents if you wanted (although this is not a problem at all). Breakfast was superb. They also served delicious dinner with excellent variety.
There are plenty of opportunities in the area, their website is worth a look, the owners helped us book our trips for excellent price.
The owners Toine and Mega were excellent hosts, we felt like visiting family but also had our privacy.

Alles!
