We had a fantastic stay here. The villa is a beautiful, modern studio with a private plunge pool and everything feels very new, clean, and well maintained. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable, and the whole place is designed to be both stylish and relaxing.
The location is perfect—just a short walk to the beach with great cafés and restaurants right outside the door. Despite being so close to everything, it’s also very quiet and private.
The staff were wonderful and the owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting the area. We would definitely come back!

This place is hard to leave!
This is our third time staying at Balian Sand and Surf studios and we will keep coming back. Don’t waste your money staying anywhere else because there’s no where better, we checked.
Balian is the most underrated gem of a town with quiet small town vibes, good food, great surf, beautiful nature and a clean river to swim in. My husband and I have stayed at many of the top accommodations here and even the most expensive hotels don’t compare to the luxury you get at Balian Sand and Surf studios.
The privacy alone is unprecedented, with enough space to lounge about all day, stretch, sunbath, and take a skinny dip in the pool.
The bed is super comfortable. The shower has great water pressure. The air conditioner is awesome but when you open up all the doors and get that ocean breeze flowing you may not even need it.
It’s super quiet yet super close to the best restaurants in town. Fast WiFi. You can eat out or order in. We took the option of having fresh coconut water on tap available throughout our stay. We are totally spoiled now.
Eddie is a thoughtful host and generous guide who has lived and surfed in Balian for decades. A great person all around to know.
Nothing, just hard to ever leave.
