Overall a nice affordable stay for our first visit to CDMX.

Ernesto was very helpful and accommodating! We went on the Destinos Mexicanos Teotihuacan tour and had a great time. There are a couple other tour options too that we didn't have time for. The hostel is colorful, pretty clean, nice "vibe", the area is a bit loud some nights (could be pro or con depending on what you're looking for)

We were hoping the hostel might have some garrafons to fill up our reusable water bottles, but unfortunately they don't, only single-use bottles for sale - best to buy your own jug at one of the supermarkets/Oxxos or tienditas around. Also, the wifi was a little spotty in our room so you may have to go to the kitchen/terrace level.

Staff could have spoken better English. We figured it out tho. I think the system of having to wait until someone buzzes the front door open is a bit inefficient. Just give the guests a keycard or something for people like me that show up at 3am.

Good location, but not a very nice stay.

The location of the hostel was nice. We had a private room with a shared bathroom. The room was spacious and cozy with a tv, which was nice.

Some of the employers were very rude to us. The shared bathroom was just cleaned once in 3 days. And the bed was very worn down. Overall, do not recommend this place.

Great location, noisy hostel, ok facilities

Amazing location, nice staff, private room was good

The reception blared music/tv(especially the tv show Malcolm in the middle) all day and night meaning it was difficult to sleep when on floor1. The staff also were chatting very loudly until early hours, this is annoying when you’ve been travelling a long time to get to CDMX and need to recover from jet lag.

The location is the only reason to stay at this hostel.The only good there is Juan Pablo, a new volunteer from Bolivia; he was super nice, welcoming and helpful when we arrived.

The pictures on booking are not representative of the place. Our room was not what I had reserved on booking. Unfortunately this place is a mess. It is run down and extremity dirty. We didn't see any staff cleaning in 4 days. The garbage in restrooms are overflowing and it's ants infested!! This place have so much potential but apparently the landlord don't give a dime about his place! It could be a successful hostel but everything is dirty and falling apart. One day, there was no water until noon because no one cared about having the tank refill....no shower, no toilet flushing..come on!!!!

The location is very good with lots of nice bars and restaurants within walking distance.

The facilities leave a lot to be desired. The bathrooms have a very unpleasant smell and are not the cleanest. Some are run down to the point where you are asked not to flush toilet paper but to put it in the bin. I would not recommend staying, even for a short visit.

Excellent stay in one of the trendiest boroughs of CDMX!

Metro city hostel is in an excellent location in Roma Norte. The price for the dorms is unbeatable for the area and the facilities are excellent. The kitchen is well stocked and clean and i personally loved the turf grass roof top for my morning yoga practices. Reception is 24 hours which is such a relief and the hostel also feels very secure. The Hostel also hosts a number of group activities Which is excellent

One of the two beds I slept in was not comfortable. The bathrooms didn't have hand towels or paper towels for drying your hands.

I was a good stay

The design itself of the hostal is nice, it has a nice terrace and patio.

The showers were always wet because the drains don’t work properly, and since it’s with curtains the water would go everywhere, the shower that was dry was the one with the broken knob because I guess nobody knew how to use it.

Perfect for a short stay in the Roma district

Located in Roma, a beautiful district of Mexico City, this hostel ticks all the boxes. There's a roof terrace with a cafe/bar to relax on. The private room was comfortable, and great for the price.

The showers struggled to maintain hot water. At the ground floor, there's a small communal area with chairs/hammock. It's right next to the drain, so the area often stinks.

Disappointing place in a good location

Good location in Roma Nte

Rude receptionist, room looked nothing like the image. Grubby bedding, broken sliding door to the balcony, wires hanging down from the wall, dirty and generally nothing like what we thought we’d booked. We left after an hour and booked in somewhere else, the receptionist smirked when we said we were leaving. We’re still trying to get a refund!

Perfect place for visiting or passing by.

I like this hostel, there is something about it, cosiness, warmth, the kind of people that are working and staying there. It is simple and a bit noisy with the metal stairs and wooden floors but despite all the echoing noises, I keep coming back here when I am in Mexico City.

Friendly and fun. Perfect to explore Roma/Candesa

Perfect location in Roma. Really friendly staff. I stayed in the 10 bed dorm for my first few nights and this was significantly less nice than the 4/6 bed dorms. But cheaper. Filtered water always on offer. Kitchen facilities as expected. Rooftop could do with a reno but perfect for the yoga classes.

More organised activities at the hostel would be good rather than the expensive organised trips.

It was kind of strange place. Very big and like a maze. Good internet but not many places to work - although upstairs in the kitchen and deck areas was cool. Lots of room but they are closed so you can't really see them to get a feel for the place.

THE SIGN TO ENTER IS RIDICULOUSLY SMALL - I walked by 5 times ! Is the place a secret ? Come on - make it easier to see the entrance so others don't need to waste there time and ask around.

Lovely rooftop

Bedroom door was frosted glass but didn't offer any sound privacy due to large gap and could see shadows through. Plus shared bathrooms weren't very good

Very good

Located in Roma Norte and not too far from other touristic places! Nice neighbourhood. The staff is really friendly and helpful. It is a good place to meet people and socialize. The roof has a great view and they sell good breakfast. They offer multiple services and recommendations for restaurants, bars, activities, etc.

Internet is really bad (but I was not there for the wifi anyway).

Male staff member carriied my heavy suitcase up to top floor for me on arrival which was much appreciated! Good wifi in reception area. Nice outdoor seating area.

Wifi wasn't working up in my room. Only reliable place was in reception area. No hot water in shower on my floor. Hostel was cold at night/eves due to its design / lack of insulation - which might be ok in summer but not winter. Didn't find staff overly helpful or forthcoming but nothing bad happened.
