Daffodil House

The house was much bigger than we expected, which was a lovely surprise. We travelled to attend a wedding, and with five adults staying together, having so much space made our stay incredibly comfortable. I also have to mention the decor 😍, you can really tell how much love, care, and attention has gone into making the house so beautiful. It felt welcoming, stylish, and like a real home away from home. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, the beds were super comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was excellent throughout our stay. There was also a lovely garden at the back with a table and chairs, which was a fantastic bonus, especially as we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather. What we loved most was how relaxing the house felt. So many holiday rentals can feel quite basic, leaving you wanting to be out all day, but this was the opposite. It was somewhere we genuinely looked forward to coming back to and spending time in. Lucy and James were readily available to answer any questions we had, very approachable, and quick to respond. We travelled by train from Leeds via Carlisle into Maryport, which was such a straightforward and scenic journey, followed by a 15-minute taxi ride to the house. We really didn’t need a car at all, the town is easily walkable within 5–10 minutes, supermarket was a 5 minute walk and taxis were readily available whenever we needed them. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we’d happily return.

Honestly, there wasn’t anything we didn’t like. If I had to pick one downside, it would simply be that we had to come home! We genuinely enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Really lovely holiday house, very clean and comfortable. Bedrooms were spacious and the decor of the whole house was bright, interesting and cheerful. Great location for exploring the area with shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

It was just a very nice and comfortable house well appointed and maintained. A good location for the centre of Cockermouth and the A66.

Location was good easy walk into Cockermouth. Parking was ok we managed to get parked easily. Large kitchen with all utensils etc. 3 bedrooms light and airy. Comfortable beds and nice linen. We had breakfast in the town. Went on a trip to Maryport. Plenty supermarkets close by.

Disappointed with the bathroom which needs some attention. No dishcloth no cleaning products. The oven took some working out to use.
