宮若温泉郷 宮若虎の湯 Miyawaka Toranoyu

評判通りブッフェレストランは最高。 お部屋も広くて清潔でゆっくりできた。

部屋内の段差が多いのと、入口部分が狭くて、足の悪い母親を補助するのに苦労した。 車椅子だとかなり厳しいと思う。

I love the room and the facilities there, the room was spacious, and very clean. the view was good, very quiet. the restaurant there was very good, I can enjoy wayu, crab, soft drink, wine, desserts....many many food and the main point is they are very delicious. Besides, they provided soft drinks in the room, that is very good, since there is no convenience store nearby.

we have to pay attention to the step between sleeping area and dinning room.

very friendly staff albeit having to communicate via translation apps b/c they didn't speak English. private tub in room was nice. nice view from room. the rice and chawanmushi in the buffet. some may like the all-you-can-drink buffet but i didn't drink that much. quality of alcohol wasn't that great and i am not that discerning when it comes to beer or sake. clean.

felt like the photos and descriptions were somewhat misleading. i expected a high-end ryokan with kaiseki-level dinner (don't think it was even described as a buffet dinner) but it was a mediocre, low-quality buffet, which was not how it was described. most importantly, the bed mattress was very uncomfortable and pillow was very bad and uncomfortable. for a ryokan of this price-point, i expected a lot more. would be nice to have a shuttle pick-up service from the nearest train station. the cab they called for us to get into the city was very old and smelled of smoke, he drove very recklessly, and to my surprise, we had a minor incident w the driver about fare upon arrival. another huge flaw: the room includes several steps/raised/sunken areas that make it very prone to missteps and accidents. we had to leave the lights on so as not to trip at night if we were to use the restroom.
