It is a stones throw away from Water-Break-Its-Neck, a spectacular waterfall with many walking trails around to enjoy the beautiful trees and woodland. It has good links to both the town of Hay-on-Wye, which has a literary festival in May, and also Llanelwedd, famous for the Royal Welsh Agricultural show in July. Nearby there are walks aplenty for the more active, and many open gardens to explore including Hergest Croft Gardens in nearby Kington. There is also the small breeds animal park situated just outside Kington which younger visitors will be able to enjoy all year round. This well-placed property is perfect for exploring all that mid-Wales has to offer being set on the England/Wales border, with the beautiful Offa’s Dyke walking trail which is 177 miles long situated close by. Just 22 miles away is the Elan Valley, a chain of dams and reservoirs set against a backdrop one of the country’s most picturesque beauty spots. Penshenkin Barn is just 8 miles from the popular town of Kington, which has a great mixture of cafés, restaurants and local shops for guests to enjoy. There is also a golf course which is one of the highest in England and Wales, with views over the Brecon Beacons. In nearby Presteigne, The Judge’s Lodging Museum provides an interesting day out where guests can take a tour. After a busy day exploring all that this area has to offer, there is space to sit and enjoy the views either from the private hot tub or from the garden seating.
