Very good breakfast, well cooked and fresh croissants etc. The room was a very good size with a lovely sofa as well as a bed and a proper wardrobe and chest of draws. Bathroom clean and good size. Lovely shower.
Actually the bed and the mattress in particular was a little soft for us, we prefer a firmer mattress and pillows.

Very peaceful. The room was so airy and comfortable, and the food was excellent. It was a lovely stay.

The location and room where great, only minor is it that the rooms are not attached to the main building which means you do need to walk around the building to get to the bar / restaurant and other facilities.
The Spa is not a a spa and to be honest needs some investment. There’s a hot tub and sauna nothing more. There’s a horrible smell throughout the spa that can also be smelled in reception. Smells like drains leaking. The “spa” itself is pretty poor. Paint on the floor, lights on sauna not working and showers that would be more at home in a school changing room I the 80’s. Also I have to mention the breakfast, it was one of the worst I’ve even had. Powdered eggs and cheep sausages and bacon. Bad coffee that tasted like it had been out all night and generally poorly presented.

The location is nice with a nice walk along the river if you want to stretch your legs. I loved the outdoor pool which was extremely refreshing after spending time in the spa area.
No complaints.

Beautiful building, wonderful staff and excellent food.
Wished we were informed the room had no view, we would have chosen a different room because the views are stunning. The Spa staff should have asked us if we wanted to use the hot tub since we were paying for a spa treatment, instead they allowed outside people to use the hot tub and we couldn’t use it.

Breakfast was brilliant and served by very friendly staff
There are a few things, such as noisy floors, outdated electrical socket’s and fans that you couldn’t get to sleep with as for the noise. Then you take into consideration the age of the building along with appreciation of it and you just have to let these go, as it’s just so beautiful.

Beautiful countryside, handsome house, nicely landscaped garden, friendly catering staff and relaxed atmosphere. Easy to walk along river Usk from the house and convenient for Brecon Beacon walks.
Food was good, well presented, good value though menu was quite traditional gastropub.

The hotel is in a stunning location - the room was like a mini suite - tastefully furnished with all the little extras - lovely home made biscuits.Lovely comfortable bed.
Beautiful grounds - the resident gardener is doing a great job.

lovely staff and service, beautiful food
We had booked and paid for a room with a mountain view, which we didn't end up getting. However the view and room were both still lovely

I enjoyed the location, the garden in front of the court yard was beautiful.
Could have been slightly cleaner, there were a few cobwebs and surfaces with built up dust on.

Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. Surroundings good. Too hot for duvet so housekeeping replaced with sheet and blanket.
Room felt very cramped. Not useful having wardrobe downstairs and dressing table and chest of drawers up yet more stairs. Stairs also very steep and creaky and bathroom door woke us each time anyone used the bathroom.
Lunch took over 40 mins to arrive.

Room was brilliant: up stairs ( to keep us fit) and wonderful views, very comfortable and spacious, bed amazingly comfortable. Both breakfast and dinners were very good with enough choices to keep us happy. Staff, all of them, very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The gardens are very well cared for, beautiful and tranquil, with walk down to the river and further, if wanted.
I think there wasn’t anything which we didn’t like. Maybe the background music in the breakfast and the dinning room could have been a little more varied as after 3 days it felt a bit repetitive.

We had a lovely, large room with a view of the hills and a generous bathroom with fluffy towels and robes. The food was exceptional at dinner and breakfast, as was the friendly service from all the staff.
I enjoyed an excellent coffee in front of the fire in the beautiful panelled lounge.
We explored the grounds with a woodland walk down to the river; it was such a genuine surprise to find beyond the garden and pool.
Such a peaceful place, a welcome retreat.
If you are on the top floor, there are a lot of stairs, and it's not so easy to manage with cases.

Staff very nice and helpful. Location is amazing.
Garden rooms are dark, dingy, uncomfortable. Toilet and bathroom downstairs with creaky stairs. Very noisy and could easily hear people from other rooms.

Great room and great hotel. Really lovely food and the staff were nice.
The Sauna wasn't working and this was one of the reasons we chose this place. The staff didn't help sort it out and didn't apologise much about the lack of a Sauna so was disappointed about that. When we called ahead to ask about the "spa" they said it would be open until 7.30. We planned our time accordingly, and then when we arrived they said it closed at 5 which gave us little time to enjoy the Sauna that didn't work and the slightly odd jacuzzi in a basement.
