River Bann Retreat

Location is absolutely perfect, 5 minute walk from the local town with bars & pubs, but surrounded in nature at the accommodation. Apartment was spotless and tidy, with plenty of towels provided. Beds were comfortable and clean. Hot tub was great size and had a lovely patio area with lovely flowers.

Limited cooking facilities, I did see a review TikTok stating an airfryer was available so we brought appropriate food, but there wasn’t one there when we arrived. Vending machine was also pretty much empty bar 1 can option and 1 chocolate bar, and turned off so was warm. Although out of the hosts control, we had a very unsettling experience with a male guest from a separate lodge creeping around our cabin late at night in the dark while we were using the hot tub, peeping through the fence and watching. There is very limited lighting around the garden area at night (understandably due to nature area), however with the open access of the garden/patio area, it can lead to a situation like what we had experience. My partner spotted this man through the fence, and when we startled us he left, however still a very very unsettling end to our stay with our young child. There was also a concert happening in the grounds on the opposite side of the river bank which played late until 11.30pm at night and all throughout the day, which defeated the purpose of our relaxing nature stay. We would have preferred some advance notice about this, especially considering the price.

Loved the location so quite perfect for a weekend getaway. Extremely clean and so comfortable. Everything that you could need was there. Was also very easy to find

Within walking distance of the town where there’s a good selection of places to eat. Hot tub was fantastic.

Basic amenities like milk (for tea), shampoo and conditioner were not provided. Hot tub area felt a little exposed (due to a public towpath running directly behind the property).

The place was modern, clean and had all the basics needed for a one night stay. It was in walking distance to the nearby town. Had a nice river walk and view. Amazing shower- fantastic bathroom!

No privacy from the hot tub area- although a sheer curtain was up, many walkers by still stared up. This was uncomfortable. Green light in the kitchen/living area kept me awake all night. Black out blinds so it was dark but this light was very irritating. No robes. Towels provided but robes and possibly slippers to go to and from the hot tub would have been nice.
