Tahanan Resort

Definitely, the pool and restaurant area is fantastic. The food from the restaurants is one of the best that I ever had travelling; you must try it!

We booked a double room with separate beds and it’s spacious enough. However, the biggest issue is the humidity. There’s nothing hot or dry in the room and some nights I could even smell it through my nose. The location is a bit far from the centre but it’s manageable if you’re a motorcyclist.

Tahanan Resort is truly a beautiful little gem in Siquijor. The property feels peaceful, secluded, and almost like having your own private resort. While our stay wasn’t perfect, the genuine hospitality of the staff made all the difference. What really sets Tahanan apart is its people. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly warm and accommodating, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. A special shoutout to Benjie and Archem at the bar, whose friendliness and exceptional service made our experience even more memorable. And don’t leave without trying the pizza! It’s made fresh in their wood-fired hearth and was honestly one of the highlights of our stay. We also loved being greeted by Kia, the resort’s sweet resident dog, who added to the welcoming atmosphere.

There were a few downsides. The bathrooms in our rooms had a noticeable odor, the blankets were thinner than expected, and beach towels cost ₱50 to rent for the day, which felt like an unnecessary extra charge. We also had to move one group into a smaller room above the bar due to a room issue. Fortunately, it ended up working out just fine for us.

Tahanan resort really is just what you need for your island getaway. More quiet and with rooms spread throughout the property it's peaceful energy helped bring in the calm element of the trip. The food offered was great, a nice range of Filipino classics with some additional cuisines (the sushi was good!). All staff members were friendly and helpful and the room although an interesting shape was perfect for our needs.

The water supply in the bathroom was low, the service at the restaurant was quite slow. Room was not so clean, there were a lot of cobwebs and quite dusty
