Anna was very kind! We loved the location which was right on the beach. The house was comfortable and quiet. We would definitely come back again!

The location is fantastic, right on the beachfront and the rooms very comfortable - the host was very very helpful

The fact the parking was very difficult - nothing on the property itself and the road very narrow - always worries to either scrape the car or have it scraped.

Great location

The beach is directly outside the front gates, but you can't open the gates fully to enjoy the view. The garden is lovely and there are some great facilities like the BBQ and patio.

The whole place was just a bit dirty - showers not overly clean. The kitchen had many items but missing things like a cheese grater. Overall it was just a bit tired. The number of rooms and areas was great, but the biggest issue is that there was nothing mentioned when booking that this was out of the season for the area so there was basically only one beach bar occasionally open, and one small shop. I think we still would have gone there but that information would have been nice to know in advance as without a car you would be very stuck there. I think it was firmly priced for an out of season resort. ____________ A review from a different point-of-view. Live the Sicilian-coast life with the beach as an extension to the backyard. Ms Anna and her husband were very welcoming of us English-speakers (with little to no Italian). She was ready with her phone translator app, with was very useful in showing us around her spacious house and yard. Also, she was only a text away if we needed anything. Whilst Fontane Bianche was only just starting to wake from the winter-slumber, Villa Mary was a good location to start and end each of our day's adventures within the region, without having to battle the city-drivers. Use of a car / bike is important during this time if you want to get out of town and do some exploring of the area. Alternatively, to just relax in garden / beach and take in a walk in the local area. We enjoyed several days touring the sites and countryside of southern Sicily, to the west and north of Fontane Bianche. We also took time out to relax in Villa Mary's well-maintained garden / on the deck. At night, in Villa Mary's kitchen and BBQ, we were able to prepare / cook our own food and wine, purchased in the local towns we travelled through. I also noted that Villa Mary is an easy drive to Syracuse or Avola for lunch / dinner out.
