Entire Cottage The Nest, Omeath near Carlingford

What started out as a trip for just two of us ended up with 9 of us staying – 4 adults and 5 teenagers – and we had such a lovely time. The cottage is so cosy, authentic and traditional, with absolutely fabulous scenery all around. The outdoor area was a huge bonus and really made the stay for us. There was loads of space for everyone to relax and it kept the teenagers entertained too. Although the cottage itself is small, the outdoor space makes the whole property feel so much bigger. There are lovely walks right outside the door and the whole setting is just beautiful. It had everything we needed for a really enjoyable staycation and felt like a proper escape. Jackie was a fantastic host, so friendly and accommodating, and even went out of her way to meet me afterwards with some belongings we had left behind. We would definitely recommend it and would happily return.

The cottage is a little out of the way if you want to spend a lot of time in Omeath or Carlingford, so having a car is definitely helpful. There is also only one bathroom, which we knew in advance, and even with 9 of us we managed perfectly fine. Neither of these took away from our stay.

Great location. Quiet and peaceful area could relax and unwind. Hot tub and outside area a bonus.

Only 1 bathroom, for us was a couple was fine but could be problematic with a full capacity.
