We stayed here 2 nights. It is in a great location- within the walls of Carcassonne. Within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and the ramparts. It had an ok breakfast and the room was clean even. The room they put us in was in a building next to the hotel and it had a strange beam in it that went diagonally along the floor. Definitely wouldn’t recommend getting up at night without a light on. But my real complaint is about the pool. I was told “Hôtel Le Donjon - Cœur de la Cité Médiévale (Carcassonne): This hotel in the historic fortress does not have its own pool on-site, but guests can easily access the outdoor pool at their sister property located nearby.” And when we arrived we were told that we could NOT use their pool. Which was the main reason I choose this property over others. I was very disappointed. Oh and the city taxes were about $50 euros-on top of what you pay. So keep that in mind.

The location is one of the best fotr the old city. well received upon arrival, quite room as requested but here come the negative part. Room extremly small, left over food and drinks in the fridge ( has not been cleaned properly ) and the bathroom as a whole is difintly a two star quality all around. The following morning in the breakfast room, total disorden and hardly anything left to get from the breakfast buffet, and had TWO cups of coffee while waiting for anyfood to appear from the so called kitchen. even though it was only 09:30 in the morning. That´s all folks, thank you but I will not be going back THERE anytime soon. For the price you will pay do not expect miracles except the location

Super long and narrow stairs to climb only to arrive at the entrance of the castle cite, then LONG way to the hotel. Hotel did not inform us that we can book a valet service to help with your luggage and pick you up outside of the castle in advance. So make sure u do so. No slippers, no dental kit in the room, and the floor is SUPER DUSTY. Noisy at night.
