Town: Known as "The Queen of the Moorlands," Leek is a hilltop market town nestled in the beautiful Moorland scenery on the western side of The Peaks. As a reminder of its former success as a silk manufacturing centre, the town includes a lovely cobblestone market area and numerous examples of outstanding Victorian architecture inspired by William Morris. As a result, the town of Leek now has a diverse range of retail establishments, from antique emporiums to restaurants and pubs serving real ale. To get there, you'll need a car. Leek is located close to the Three Shires Head—the place where Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire come together—and is just a short drive from attractions like Chatsworth House and Buxton Opera House.
