Beautiful but needs some love and attention

Literally a few steps away from the entrance of Alton towers. Beautiful looking property.

The overpowering smell of bleach when we arrived. Gave me a sore throat. Both toilets downstairs, you couldn't shut the doors because the handles didn't work. One of our family members got locked in! Everything is Abit tired and needs some attention. We stripped the beds on the day we left, the pillows had seen better days as have the mattress protectors. Fridge leaked. The other one froze the contents. No tin opener! Freezer made a loud noise Everytime you opened the door. One shower had very low water pressure the other one had no temperature control as it was broken off. One double bed was very uncomfortable felt like it was about to collapse. Shame as the property is beautiful and has so much potential.

This place could be fantastic especially for the location. It has been neglected and problems ignored.

The location. The size. The lounge. Overall the beds were comfy.

Property has been neglected. Showers downstairs more wrong than right. Bannister hanging off and very dangerous. Handle on downstairs bathroom broken so couldn’t shut it or would get stuck inside. Kitchen worktop lifted above boiler cupboard. Drawers didn’t open properly. Grill rack was dirty. The bin hadn’t been washed out. Blinds had seen better days and felt sticky to touch and drawstrings didn’t operate fully.

Our stay was excellent due to the location, but I would not be returning.

Location excellent 5 minute walk to Alton Towers

For the price I was expecting a high level of cleanliness, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms, however, it was sadly lacking. Although the kitchen had lots of crockery and cooking utensils, nothing matched and I had to use foil on all the cooking trays. The fridges, leaked and the freezer was dirty. Some of the kitchen doors were hanging off and if you opened the cutlery drawers all 3 opened at once. The cutlery was a mismatch of various types. Also it is the first place I have stayed that did not have champagne flutes. The bedrooms and the lounge were adequate.

Lovely stay, would stay again.

The property is literally on the entrance of Alton towers which was the purpose of our trip! It was fantastic. Good sized house for a big party too , really kind host who was really accommodating, she made the trip for us .

So much dust, spiders and cobwebs. Everything needs a deep clean, including carpets. More amenities needed on site for longer stays.

A fabulous place for a large group and location is excellent.

The location couldn't have been better for Alton Towers. It was great for a large group. The garden was great for the kids to play and the living room was big enough for all 12 of us to sit in all together. It was just a really nice place with everything you could need.

A hidden gem

Stayed here for Alton towers and the cottage is literally at the entrance. Within 3 mins of walking we were in the theme park.
