Lovely place but with drawbacks

Bramble Lodge at Woolverstone Lodge Park was very smart, very clean and well maintained. The mattress was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on.

There were however some drawbacks….. Both showers had similar controls which were a victory of style over functionality. With no obvious labels, instructions or colours it was matter of ‘suck it and see’. Twisting one side seemed to control temperature whilst pulling was needed to cross over a central notch. Twisting the other side seemed to control up/down/bath again with a notch. All functions were impossible to control with wet/soapy hands, whilst being drenched with cold/hot water, since the smooth chromium controls were without any serrations to aid grip. Although the bed was very comfortable the duvets however were much too high in tog rating (about 15). I had to remove the duvet and just use the duvet cover. I did venture into the smart on-site restaurant/bar only to find that the only beer pump (Adnams Bitter) was not in use so the choice was one of about five different lagers or Guinness. I purchased a pint of Guinness and sat outside overlooking the harbor …. very pleasant. After asking for a menu, thinking that I would like to eat there that evening, I was informed that the chef was on holiday that week…… I didn’t go back. Mobile phone reception inside the Lodge was virtually non-existent and just about strong enough outside (using O2 network) No key was available for the patio doors although they seemed to have a outside key slot. So entry and exit was only via the “back door” when going out anywhere.

Amazing escape

We absolutely loved our stay at the lodge. It was incredibly comfortable and cozy, offering the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind. We spent two nights there and truly enjoyed the peaceful and quiet surroundings .It felt like a real escape from the hustle and bustle. The reception staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. Overall, a lovely experience that we would happily recommend and hope to return to!

Fern lodge

The lodge itself was absolutely stunning situated in beautiful surroundings. The little touches of a torch and binoculars, a doggy welcome pack, tea, coffee and biscuits and a cleaning pack were lovely and thoughtful.

No critisms at all. We would highly recommend the accommodation and site to others.

It was clean in a nice rural quite area rabbits an other wild life running about at night when you looked out the window nice en suite bathroom an tv in every room kept the kids happy

Great location in deciduous woodland above the River Orwell. Lovely walk along the river to the iconic Butt and Oyster pub at Pin Mill. Accommodation excellent, clean and comfortable. Staff excellent.

Peaceful, relaxing break

Bramble Lodge was spacious, comfortable and well equipped, and had a large decking area which was good for our dogs. Lovely location amongst the trees, not too far from the River Orwell. Enjoyed some nice walks in the surrounding area.

Can someone let me know how I make a complaint about this property please the property please the cleaning was appalling and in one of the toilets there was a terrible smell of urine
