Sweet host, sleepy hostel

The dorm area was air conditioned and the beds were very spacious and comfortable, with curtains. The host, who was very sweet, coordinated a motorbike rental drop off for us and gave us a sweet departure gift.

There was a very sleepy atmosphere; I imagine everyone was taking the time to rest after partying in Phuket. There were some bees nesting in the sink and a smell of cats and ammonia. It was good to have a kitchen, but there was no cookware to use to make a meal.

Super clean inside the room and bathroom. Not so much outside and in common areas. Nice and quiet at night, nicely secluded.

Place looks like the pictures but 15 years later with no maintenance. Cat pee smell everywhere outside the rooms.

Loved the place

The host was the sweetest and kindest with a lots of cats. She helped me with renting bike and taxi at a good price. The place had big comfy beds. It was clean and well managed. Will definitely recommend if you’re a solo traveller.

It was definitely a CAT farm, loved it ! The owner rescues all the cats of the area and treat them very well, and she is really nice also with travelers ! The beds are super big, which is a good value. (No cats allowed on the shared room, which is good for cleanliness) Ammy the friend’s owner will rent you some scooters, she was really helpful in all situations and it was a good value.

Watch out with the mosquitoes as the light on the main room remains on all the night for the cats

The room was super nice. Great aircon, big beds, fan in each bed, great view from bathroom, decent showers. Nice common area, lots of cats but my allergies weren’t effected.

The cats did poo on the drive however it was cleaned up very quick and if you just pay attention you shouldn’t step in it.

I was in a private room but I think the dorm rooms would be better. Beds had individual privacy curtains and were large and was conducive to meeting new people. If I were to stay again…dorm rooms

In the middle of nowhere. You absolutely need to have a scooter just to go get something to eat. No little store within walking distance. Luckily the taxi that brought me to the property delivered a scooter to me in 30 minutes. I believe you can set up a rental before your arrival…this is a must

Lovely hostel, owner is super nice. She also has many cute cats that will melt your heart. Location is convenient, takes you around 10 minutes to the nicest beach on the island. Also, the hostel has some of the most spacious and comfy beds I've ever had in a hostel on my travels.

I had an amazing stay here. The lady that worked here was lovely and so helpful. The kittens here was so cute. The dorms was great and the bathroom view was amazing. This is a really good place for relaxation.

Amazing hostel and lovely host!

The nicest hostel we have stayed in! perfect from start to finish! The lovely host arranged a bike for us to be left at the pier on arrival and she greeted us. The beds where huge and the linen was really fresh! You get a privacy curtain, your own fan, light and plug socket. the room has air con, and the bathrooms are lovely and clean. There was a communal kitchen area with fridge, kettle and toaster. The host left us water everyday and fresh fruit that she had grown in her garden. There are lots of cats that are so cute! Definitely stay here if you’re coming to Koh Yao Yai, couldn’t recommend it enough!!

Best hostel I've ever had! The beds are super big and comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious. The owner is a gem, she can arrange motorcycles for you at the pier and even brought me when I departed. Super cute kittens everywhere :) also very social, easy to meet your dorm mates.

The perfect base to explore Koh Yao Yai

A beautiful little hostel located in a quiet part of Koh Yao Yai. The lady who runs the hostel is absolutely lovely and takes in injured or homeless cats on the island, so it’s a cat lovers haven! The dorm beds are huge (queen size) and super comfortable and the bathroom windows open onto the surrounding jungle. Absolutely magical!

Perfection

This was the best experience that we had throughout Thailand. The hostess is amazing, the cats are amazing, the bathroom with the window to the nature was an epic touch, the beds were the most comfortable that we had slept at, the soundscape hanging out at the porch was fascinating, and the building decoration and ideas behind it made everything even more interesting. I cannot suggest this enough. Especially to nature lovers.

Owned by a exceptionally friendly lady, this place is a cool mix between a hostel and a homestay. There is a 8 bed dorm, where every bed is queen sized. The view from the room and the terrace is also great. The facilities were all rather new and maintained well. The overall cleanliness is great. The place is a bit outside of the main areas, so a motorbike is more or less required to get anywhere. But driving on this island is super chill and there are plenty of places to rent one. The place is especially nice if you like cats, there are so many :)

Geweldig!

Het hostel kent 1 kamer met 8 bedden en 1 privé kamer. Vandaar dat het snel volgeboekt is. De eigenaresse is zo een lieve vrouw! Ze runt het hostel helemaal alleen en heeft zorg over een ontelbaar aantal katten. Verder zijn de bedden echt heel groot en dit is zo comfortabel!

De locatie is ver van alles weg. Je hebt wel echt een scooter nodig :)

La dueña es un encanto! Se pasa la mañana limpiando la pobre pero aún así no da a basto. Es demasiado grande para una sola persona.

Está todo lleno de bichos y telarañas. No es por limpieza porque esa mujer limpia todos los días , es por malas condiciones, todo oxidado y en mal estado. Aunque esté rodeado de naturaleza no son buenas condiciones.Tanto de los grifos como de la ducha el agua es marrón y tiene un olor fuerte a óxido que se queda en el pelo y en la piel. Para lavar los platos donde luego comíamos, el agua el agua marrón... La ubicación es muy mala, está lejos de todo. Tienes que alquilar moto sí o si. Es una pena porque la mujer es encantadora pero esto es demasiado para ella sola..

Een warm, gastvrij en ontspannen verblijf met alles wat je nodig hebt.

We waren super blij met ons verblijf. De hostess was ontzettend lief, vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze heeft ons geholpen met het huren van een scooter en zelfs met het regelen van ons volgende verblijf. Overal lopen vriendelijke katten rond, wat het extra huiselijk maakt. Het is geen luxe sterrenresort, maar alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig.

Er was niks negatiefs aan ons verblijf!

En el hostel tenes tostadora olla eléctrica tenes de todo agua las duchas hermosas súper espaciosa la cama cómoda privada lugar para guardar toda tus cosas la vista es Increíble y Está bien ubicado porque estás en el medio para recorrer todo en el mismo hostel te alquilan moto si queres apenas llegas !

Die Unterkunft liegt schön ruhig. Die Betten sein super bequem und groß, man hat viel Platz. Die Bäder sind direkt im Nebenraum und ebenfalls gut ausgestattet. Das Personal ist wunderbar, super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Katzen sind ein Traum und haben sich direkt in mein Herz gekuschelt.

Eigentlich war alles super, man muss sich darauf einstellen, auch alleine zu sein und wissen das es ein kleines Hostel ist. Das Wasser ist leider sehr braun, was aber mit der Natur um das Haus zu tun hat.

Petit dortoir, grand lit et confortable et rideaux. De quoi mettre ses affaires avec soi ! La gérante est adorable, beaucoup de chats à l’extérieur. Emplacement au « milieu » de l’île. C’est possible de louer un scoot et de le récupérer directement au l’embarcadère.

Aardige gastvrouw, maar mag hygiënischer

Personeel is er vriendelijk en er is gratis drinkwater. De bedden zijn hard, maar groot qua formaat en comfortabel.

Water in de douche moet je echt niet drinken, dit is oranje. Het kan verder wat netter en schoner afgewerkt worden. De wc-bril zit los, een douche is alleen koud en de vloer is van beton. Verder zijn er heel veel katten waardoor er soms nog wel eens kattenpoep in de gemeenschappelijke ruimte ligt, dit ligt niet in de slaapkamers, want daar komen de katten niet. Verde heb je wel echt een scooter nodig. Restaurants zijn 20 min lopen.

Ich wäre lieber nicht gekommen

Die Besitzerin war wirklich unglaublich lieb und zuvorkommend. Ich wollte die Bewertung erst nicht schreiben, weil sie so süß zu mir war. Die Betten waren schön groß und es gab gratis Wasser.

Es gab Kakerlaken und Ungeziefer, das Problem waren die Klos/Badezimmer die nach Fäkalien gerochen haben und oft verstopft waren. Sehr eklig. Falls jemand nicht gut mit Katzen klarkommt, ist hier definitiv nicht der Ort für dich!
