A Short City Break In Chester

Mark is a very responsive host who communicates well. He deals with issues promptly which is reassuring. The location of the property is superb, being close to the city centre, and the free parking is a real bonus. The heating and hot water systems work well, and the bathroom/shower is excellent! The kitchen is fairly well equipped, and the bed linen is spotless!

Certain features require attention before guests arrive: for example, ensuring that all the light bulbs work, that window blinds are not stuck, and that there isn't dust on artificial flowers and behind the bedside cabinets. A fridge with a freezer compartment would be helpful. The kitchen window is at street level and for security needs a blind fitted.

31 Blackfriars was the perfect accommodation for our stay. It is in a great location near to the racecourse, in a quiet side street just 5 minutes walk to some of Chesters bars and restaurants. The apartment was very clean, well equipped and communication with Mark, the host, was easy and he was very accomodating and helpful. The private parking spot was a bonus too.

Lovely Apartment clean and everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday, Owner was very responsive to an early check in and always at hand if needed any information, Was a pleasure to stay in this lovely Apartment, Thank you.

Sadly my phone didnt have signal and the Internet kept dropping out, Also property address shown it to be further up the road so was little difficult to find, All this really can't be helped and it is a lovely place to stay and will return again.

Ideal location for City centre, right opposite the race course. Gated property with free parking. Kitchen had everything that you needed. Plenty of towels. It was just really nice.

Only criticism, no teatowel to dry the dishes (there is a dishwasher but we only used a couple of mugs and glasses)

Excellent and provided us with an ideal stay, close to the City centre.

Location was excellent and communication from the host was clear, concise and timely. Rooms and decor were lovely and very clean. Keys were easily obtainable in the security box. Bathroom was modern clean and tasteful. Heating throughout the property was great as it was a very cold night in Chester on that date. Will definitely use again when next travelling to Chester :-)

I have no criticism of the property whatsoever but a couple of suggestions would be, as I was travelling and sharing the two bedroom apartment with my elderly Mother, a brighter entrance bulb or movement activated security light would have helped on the few steps down from the car park as it was very dark when we arrived (awful weather!), as my Mum does have a few mobility issues. I used my mobile phone torch to help her down the steps. This would be useful for other older guests I'm sure. On a similar note, provision of an inexpensive rubber bath mat that could be used inside the shower if needed for stability for older guests would be a good addition.

Great base for a Chester city break

Spotlessly clean, well furnished, comfortable beds, good shower in the lovely bathroom, superb location and a very helpful host. Right by the city walls, albeit one of the less interesting sections, and the racecourse. Less than 10 mins walk to shops, restaurants, etc and not far from the river. Handy for everything but on a quiet road (perhaps not when the races are on, but very quiet when we were there). Host had lots of helpful suggestions for things to do and places to eat and drink. Hard to beat for a few days in Chester.

Just small niggles - the vinyl flooring needs some tlc in places. And there's no ice compartment in the fridge.

A little Gem

The location was amazing. Close to all attractions and in a really quiet area. . Mark, the host was always on hand with recommendations for places to eat, etc.. We loved having an entire apartment to ourselves, which was lovely. Very comfy beds with pillows to die for! There were a few too many cobwebs in the bedroom, which were obviously missed by the cleaners, but it wasn't a big problem, we got rid of with the hoover that was in a cupboard.

Well located next to the race course and a very short walk to the city centre.

The location was quiet with free secure parking. The apartment was well furnished. The host was very responsive to any questions and even supplied room fans at the last minute due to the warm weather. Check in and out were very easy. Would definitely recommend despite comments below.

No lock on bathroom door and only 1 basic lock on front door. Many lightbulbs missing or broken and no instruction folder. Only 2 dining chairs and a very small dining table. It should be noted that that there are 3 steps down to the apartment from the parking area which could pose an issue for anyone with mobility issues. But otherwise it was very good.

Beautiful apartment in a gated courtyard. Secured parking which was a bonus. The apartment has everything you need. Perfect location for the races or a city visit. Great communication with the host, Mark. He was brilliant and let us check in early so we could get ready for the racing, after a 3 hour journey. Would highly recommend.

A home from home (but better!)

The apartment was spotless, and it had everything we needed. Very clean and lovely decor. The location was perfect, just outside the city centre (5 mins walk), and opposite the racecourse. We took our dog and it was ideal because the car park is gated, so both the dog and the car were safe. Mark was an amazing host, very friendly, very sociable and extremely knowledgeable about the area. We could not fault it.

That we had to leave! We are already planning our next stay, so we can explore more in Chester. It was the perfect base.

Mark the host was very happy to share local knowledge and was very welcoming. Parking is very secure. The location is excellent. We loved being able to walk into beautiful Chester.

Noise and music in the apartment upstairs but it was Friday night before the races. Luckily the people making the noise went into the city to party. So we got a night sleep.

There were dirty dishes already in the dishwasher when we arrived however I appreciate this could have been as a result of the cycle not completing it properly. I would have expected it to be empty on arrival though.

Comfortable flat, attractive building, great location!

Fantastic location within sight of the racecourse and a short walk into the city centre. Comfortable flat. Great to have parking right outside.

We arrived in the dark and couldn’t see flat numbers so had to wander around the car park and building trying to work out which flat was ours. It would have been helpful to have better directions.
