Residence Inn by Marriott Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Quiet, clean, and convenient. We started a rental car trip from this hotel and I was able to pickup car from airport and have a few hours free parking at hotel to load and prepare my road trip. Breakfast was just ok.

I stayed here with my family and found the apartment was spacious and comfortable however the overall service experience was disappointing. The positives first — the apartment had a separate bedroom, a convertible sofa bed and well equipped kitchen amenities, which worked very well for a family stay. Also, one of the staff members on our last day was kind enough to help us with some printouts, which I appreciated. However, there were several issues that affected our stay: 1. There were no locks for either the shower room or the bedroom, which felt inconvenient and uncomfortable for a family stay. 2. The Airport transfer information was unclear. It was presented as an available facility, but only later did we realise it was complimentary only from the airport, while the return transfer required payment per person. 3 Another confusing aspect was the shared facilities arrangement. Breakfast and the swimming pool were located in the adjacent hotel (possibly a sister property). This was unexpected, especially from a Marriott-branded stay. 4. The biggest disappointment was the housekeeping and service coordination. I could not find the door flyer to request room cleaning, so I informed the front desk directly. The room was still not cleaned. The next day I reminded them again, including the cleaning staff personally, but once again returned in the evening to find nothing had been done. 5. When I raised the issue seriously, I was told the manager would come speak with me, but that never happened. Eventually, housekeeping staff arrived while my family and I were inside the room and unfortunately communication was difficult as they did not understand English well, which created further confusion. Overall, while the room itself was good, the level of service I received from Marriott was far below expectations. I would not describe this as a satisfactory hospitality experience.
