    The location, although it is considered safe as long as you mind your own business, it is still intimidating and uncomfortable to through at night as the hotel is located near the housing project, Queensbridge; the area is quite dirty and full with shady characters. Having said that, LAPD is pretty active in this area, and you can spot one in almost every corner, but still, not good for lone female travelers. Furthermore, there are a lot of construction sites and parking lots in the area, so it can be noisy from time to time. Lastly, forget the Manhattan view the hotel advertised, as most of the views you will get is either factory, construction site or parking lot. Apart from the location, the hotel is fab. The room is big, the price is reasonable, especially during the world cup, the staffs are nice, and the breakfast is delicious. FYI - Do not use debit card as insurance card as it takes ages to get money back. For me, it has been more than 1 week and have not get my money back yet

    Spacious rooms by NY standards. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Complimentary water, coffee, tea available throughout the day. Breakfast options v limited by UK standards, but adequate. Self-service laundry facilities ($10 for wash and dry - able to get quarters from front desk). Very under-developed roof terrace. Could be made really nice with good seating and drinks, but felt neglected. Fairly close to a couple of subway stations so v well-connected. With local delis/ diners/ cafes/ street vendors/ shops all walkable. It is a multi-cultural residential area - great to see ordinary New Yorkers living their lives. Often large groups congregate in the street, which could feel intimidating for some. We were never out in the dark or alone, and in the evening these groups were no problem to us. They are just friends hanging out together in their community. Cannabis use is very high in local area. It hits you as soon as you come up the subway steps. On every street. Throughout the hotel corridors. If the smell bothers you a lot, I would not recommend this area. Overall, it is a good hotel - ultimately clean and friendly with useful amenities.

    I recently stayed here for 5 nights. Overall, it was an okay stay with some positives, but also a few drawbacks. Pros: The room was spacious and had all the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Everything essential was available, which made it convenient, especially for a longer stay. The walk to the subway is also fairly short, which helps with getting around the city. Cons: Housekeeping was a disappointment. Cleaning was done only once during my 5-night stay, and that too after I requested it twice. The location is another downside although close to public transport, the hotel is in an industrial-looking area and the neighborhood didn’t feel very safe, especially at night. There is also construction right next to the property, so mornings were quite noisy.
