Jovia Hotel

Pros: big room, cold AC (it was summer), big bathroom, big tub, awesome location, amazing staff, simple breakfast which they rotate some dishes. Cons: mattress way too soft gave us both backaches, not enough hooks in the bathroom, needs a shower curtain, floor is completely wet, water pressure erratic (would suddenly turn into a drip mid shower. Would stay again only if they improve on the mattress - needs to be at least mid-firm. We almost wanted to sleep on the floor. Pity because everything else is acceptable.

Pool was small and dull and Nowhere to sit. Rooms ok but a bit pricey and the floorboards were cracked in several places. Nowhere to hang many clothes. No ABC news channel. Helpful staff

We had 2 stays at this hotel. The one at the start was a good experience and we had a room on the 6 or 7 floor towards the back at the hotel. No complaints at all. Our 2nd stay at the end of our 3 weeks wasn't so great. Yes I had booked a double room and had asked for twin beds 6 months before our arrival and was told yes we could accommodate. Unfortunately they didn't and couldn't change as the hotel was supposedly booked out. I wasn't to concerned about it as things happen. We had room 205 and I would avoid this room and probably most rooms around it. It's on the 2nd floor towards the front of the hotel and if you are a light sleeper, you will get no sleep. There is a lot of noise from the street below and with people coming and going up and down the corridor, their voices were amplified. There would have to be at least an inch gap at the bottom of the entrance door so not just noise but a lot of light too. The pipes to every other room above you must have run through the walls about a metre from the bed. It felt like every 15 minutes a tap was running or toilet was being flushed. It did quietened down around midnight and start up again in the early hours of the morning. The bathroom on the 1st stay was clean but on the 2nd stay was pretty awful. Mould everywhere. And it has been there for quite some time. Not just in the shower but around the basin too. Nothing that a good scrub wouldn't fix. Breakfast is very average as is the pool. Just be careful with the lounge chairs as they have very rusty legs and are a little unstable. The view over the city is definitely their selling point. The staff are lovely and the door man was really great. Very much an asset to the hotel. For the price you can get a better, cleaner hotel with a much better breakfast like The Elios which hands down a better choice.

The most exensive hotel we stayed at in Vietnam but A very run down hotel with poor amenities the breakfast was cold everything and limited (eggs were hot), on the bright side it has excellent staff 👍
