I'd have to admit I liked everything about pelican Beach except for the Sandy Beach which you are unable to get close to it all because they're umbrellas and chairs which you were forced to rent if you wanted to get anywhere close to the water. I found myself going to public beaches just so I could be anywhere close to the water in my own chairs

The mattress was the worst mattress I have ever slept on in my life, I would have gotten more sleep on the beach. The next day we had to purchase a $175 mattress topper to be able to sleep. We even tried sleeping on the bunk beds which were horrible as well. The view from the balcony was beautiful. They also need to put black out curtains in the bedroom it is so bright in there it look like runway lights shinning in you face. The tv was not working in the bedroom, there was parts of the ceiling peeling off. The unit needs an update. I highly recommend the owner sleep a night in the unit. The front desk was not helpful just told us we need to get ahold of the people we rented from. We have been to Destin regularly over the last 10 years and this was by far the worse hotel stay aside from the view.

I did like the pools and the beach. What I didnt like was the description of the condo I was given when I booked this trip through Expedia. The condo had cockroaches, and the description said it had a washer and dryer in condo. It did have the washer and dryer but the door was locked and I was told from Panhandle Getaways that the condo was not advertised with a washer and dryer. Then they do not provide beach towels at all. We are at the beach, how can they not offer beach towels. The amount of money paid for the condo should cover the $5 per beach towel, I had to purchase at the surf shop. Then, the toilet paper holder broke on the first day, and when I spoke with panhandle people I did tell them I wanted to be notified when they wanted to come in and fix it since there was not a safe in the room. They entered the room and fixed it without letting me know they were entering the room. This property is also not advertised that you can not get any assistance like towels, toilet paper, literally anything. The panhandle people did bring some trash bags and toilet paper after I complained. But I do feel these are things I shouldnt have had to request.

The view to the ocean was great. Pretty much what I paid for apparently. The room was in much need of a deep cleaning. Splatters on the walls. Floor was gross. Area rugs need to be replaced. Shower was dirty. The room was not what I was expecting. Pictures on the website were deceiving. Not at all what I got.

Room 1011 was on the corner so the view was amazing. We were able to see the Thursday fireworks from the hallway. The place was clean and comfortable. The cons…the bedroom is by the hall trash chute which which was loud. There is a sign to not use it at night but people still do and it woke us up every time. Also, there were only 4 elevators, on that side of the provides one laundry

I really didn't like being told that we had to wear a wrist band for our entire vacation, like we're teenagers at a club. The staff seemed really unhappy with life in general. The room smelled moldy when we arrived but wasn't too bad once we opened the balcony doors. There was a surprising amount of cookware which was nice. The tiki bar was good but I never found the cafe.

I was given an access code to the property. I made an attempt call the front desk of the resort to explain that the access code was not working when we arrived, then the front desk told me i needed to call expedia, bc i booked with a 3rd party I needed to call expedia to get the access code (again), which mind you I already had it. But it was not working. I then called Expedia and they told me they needed to to contact the resort as well. Neither parties were helping I waited over an hr and no one could help. I then called the number on the door which was another number for the resort. And that actually helped bc the gentleman had to RESET the code since the first code that was provided to me did not work. It only needed to be reset! The fact thatthe staff at the front desk of the resort did not explain that to me, and kept referring me to the Expedia was upsetting. The gentleman who i finally spoke to knew that the door access code have issues as times but no one else would elaborate that to me.

Someone in the property next door or above us was drilling on the floor and it was very unpleasant as the noise was everyday t he at we were there. Also our apartment needed better maintenance as the shower glass door was having issues, the tv in the master bedroom was falling off the wall, and 2 elevators were not working so it would take long every time we needed to go up or down. I was not satisfied with the stay.

I’ve stayed at Pelican Beach several times before, but this time it was awful. The room we stayed in. It needs lots of love. Dishwasher didn’t work. Room smelled like mildew. The noise of the slamming doors to the stair well and the trash compactor all night long. The wall by the door is deteriorating away has a 2 by 2 hole on it. No blankets for the hide away bed.

Very family friendly/quiet. Pool was very warm! Hot tub hot! Beach was beautiful! First time in Destin. Our condo (608) had nice accommodations and was clean. Beds were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beautiful view with sunrises and sunsets! Bunk beds were a hit! Only on-site dining option was a small cafe that had hours of 8-10 (breakfast) and 12-4 (lunch). We never ate there so I can’t comment on food. We stayed 4 nights. There was dish soap provided but no dishrag or sponge (I did ask for one). Basic toiletries and hand soap, along with towels were also provided. We brought our own beach towels. 2 of the 4 elevators were down, it appears they are updating them. Parking was free and convenient. Very close to Target and Walmart. Beachside Tiki Bar had domestic 16oz for $5/can- not bad. They had a variety of other beers as well. Blended drinks and other sweet treats. My biggest complaint and really my only one, is you are not allowed to set up any chairs/towels ahead (ocean front) of the pre-rented chairs/umbrella the resort rents out. And even worse, there are security guards watching the adjacent properties so you aren’t allowed to set up next to the umbrellas even if no one is occupying that sand. Super disappointed. We already paid to be here, we shouldn’t have to pay to use the beach and be close to kids in the water. I’ve stayed across the country, ocean front and never experienced something as silly as not being able to set up a chair where I want.

The resort was nice. The problem was the condo was owned by someone else who had their own housekeeping. We were misled when it came to housekeeping. We only recived extra towels when it came to having to complain to the property manager. They only provided one set. Not evough for showering and the beach for the week. Orbitz makes it sound like housekeeping and towels will be provideded daily. The front desk would not provide extra towels or anything extra. When asked for some garbage bags from the front desk they only gave one small one and wouldnt give more because of what room we were stayed in. We had to buy our own towels for the whole week along with toilet paper because the one they provided was thin and rough. The floors did not feel clean upon arriving and there was hair on the king bed sheets. There was a full kitchen set and fridge you are able to use. They dont do housekeeping throughout the week. Only when you leave. The night before we left we received a text saying we need to be out the room before midnight even though we had agreed upon checkout was 12pm the following day. Then they said yes 10 am we have to be out when we responded saying that was not on our contract and we agreed 12pm. They responded okay and then the next morning we had cleaners knocking on our door close to 10 am. Then again at 10 30 while we were still in the room. Beside that it was a minute walk from the pools and and gorgeous beach which made it worth it.

I came to Destin for my daughter’s 1st birthday celebration. Let me start off by saying my main purpose and goal was the ocean…and this unit did not disappoint. The pictures are dull compared to how beautiful it is when you walk onto the balcony. We could watch the sun set from the balcony. This rental had everything we needed except washer and dryer which was my mistake - I didn’t realize the one bedrooms do not have washer and dryers. We had issues in the beginning with the dishwasher and air conditioner ..both issues were fixed promptly. Any questions I had received a quick friendly response. As I mentioned before I came for the beach and that is where I was everyday until the sun went down..I was not there to critiqe each room and search for flaws. The bed was comfortable , I had hot water and working ice machine! Very close to Walmart , target and multiple other shops and food places , coffee shops and ice cream. 3 pools, cafe and tiki bar all great! They had security on property at all times and patrolled the area as well. I have nothing bad to say about this place - we had an amazing trip. Thank you for opening up your place and allowing us to soak up the beauty for the week !!

Property was nice, balcony was right above the pool so it was noisy during the day. Rental chairs took up all the beach so if you had your own chairs, you have to set up behind them. Could not set up close to water. No trespassing signs on both sides of beach so walking on the beach was a little confusing. Front desk was not very helpful on finding our room. Kinda just sign here, here is parking pass and that’s about all was said. We had to ask a security guard. Shut down pool at 3:00 for a private party. There was other pools but not beach front.

The unit we stayed in had a beautiful view. There were some little things we found.. like one of the pillow cases was dirty, my son found a bowl of cereal under one of the beds from the previous renters.. it had been there so long we had to let it soak to get it clean.. there was also water damage in various places in the condo and it smelled musty. Also, there is no ice machine on the property if you need ice for your coolers.. We didn’t find the staff to be too friendly.. we were told at arrival all the pools stayed open until 10:00pm, however, one pool closed at 6:00 every evening.. the gym hours definitely do not fit with everyone’s schedules.. some people are used to doing early morning workouts and it didn’t open until 7:00am.. For the price we paid to stay there, there were just so many things that weren’t as described. The overall best thing was the private beach and the view from our room. Not sure if we would ever stay there again due to the lack of communication and the lack of friendliness from the staff.. I didn’t take pics of all the little things, but I did take a pic of the cereal bowl my son found under the bed from someone who had stayed there before us..
