Pelican Beach Resort is truly first-class, offering outstanding amenities in a prime Destin location. The resort sits directly across from Big Kahuna’s Water Park and is close to many popular restaurants. Guests enjoy two heated pools—one outdoor with a waterfall and one indoor/outdoor—along with a kiddie pool and hot tub. A brand-new beachfront pool sits next to the Tiki Hut, creating the perfect spot to relax by the water. All pools are open and available.
Additional resort amenities include a fitness center, game room, umbrella and chair rentals, tennis and basketball courts, 24-hour security at the entrance, covered parking, and a seasonal on-site deli, restaurant, and convenience store.
Located on the 19th floor, our condo offers sweeping ocean views from the living room, dining room, and kitchen. This 1-bedroom, 2-bath unit is fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay and carries a Deluxe-Plus rating—the highest rating available at Pelican Beach.
Inside, you’ll find Cali Bamboo flooring throughout and a beautifully updated kitchen featuring custom quartz countertops with accent lighting to create the perfect atmosphere. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed, from preparing a quick snack to a gourmet meal. The master bedroom features a king-size bed with a private bath, while custom built-in bunk beds in the hallway provide additional sleeping space. The sleeper sofa in the living area is exceptionally comfortable and ideal for extended stays.

Beautiful place to stay! The view from the balcony is amazing and on two of our mornings we enjoyed our coffee on the lanai while dolphin watching. The condo was spotless and had everything we needed. There’s a closet with beach chairs, an umbrella, pool floats, beach toys, etc. We enjoyed two of the pools as well as the beach along with food and drink service from the tiki bar. There’s no washer and dryer in the condo however they are only 4 doors down near the elevators. The condo is in a great location not too far from some amazing restaurants and shopping. We highly recommend if you are looking for a beachfront condo in Destin!

I will say that we have visited the Destin area 2-3x a year the last several years and, as always, the beach and crystal clear waters did not disappoint!!!! This was our first stay at Pelican Beach Resort and will be our last; we were not impressed and spent much of the week frustrated with a variety of issues.
The property is PACKED, elevators often not working/VERY full, the beach is completely over run by La Dolce Vita chair service which you are essentially left with no option BUT to rent for the week if you want any chance of having a view of the water/watch littles play (their set up covers the entire horizontal of the beach and is 5 rows deep; there is a very small area behind that you can set up your own items if you choose- it’s absurd)… we rented a set just to have a “home base” and to avoid having to go up and down the elevators with chairs/umbrella/etc- it was $200 for the week and we never got closer to the water than the 3rd row back and could touch our “neighbors”- there is no reason this should be acceptable to completely over run the beach with set ups- many of which remained empty much of the week!!!!!
We had some issues with the condo specifically, but the owners addressed them accordingly so I will not go into detail as that would be unfair. It is worth noting just in case you miss it in the listing, this unit has NO WASHER/DRYER… there is a coin laundry set (just one washer/dryer) on the 19th floor, but it’s definitely pretty inconvenient especially since bath towels are not replenished, etc and you’re on your own with washing for the entirety of the trip. It was frequently occupied.
Overall, the condo was updated nicely, the view is spectacular, the balcony furniture is very gross and in desperate need of replacement. Not sure why so much money was invested in the condo to not replace those items. I hardly wanted to touch them!
The new pool was nice, but insanely crowded to the point you could hardly enjoy it and my toddler was hit in the face WHILE IN MY ARMS with footballs/balls in the water with people having no regard for it being a pool and not a field. It was disappointing to say the least. The hot tub was DISGUSTING. Thank goodness for a beautiful ocean!
In the end, we would not return. It was surely a let down with the various compounded issues. Yes, I am fully aware
It is a high rise and peak season, but nonetheless, much of the problems could be addressed to make a more enjoyable stay for all.
