This hotel/resort is absolutely amazing. It is quiet and beautiful. It reenergized my wife and I after a very busy few years at work that were taxing on us. Staff is amazing, kind, and helpful. The hotel is furnished beautifully with most of the structure of polished meranti wood, and a mix of eclectic furniture from local woodworkers in the world famous region for wood carving of Jepara, and mixed western and eastern ‘90-2000 design. Very comfy and romantic. Food is fresh very tasty and varied. Mind you Karimunjawa is an island and not everything is always available. But that is also charming. Plenty of things to do, but for us just rest and snorkeling was enough. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of being here. Staff is incredible: when our flight out was cancelled (without notifying us), the staff created a rescue plan to get us off the island by boat and with a personal driver to Yogyakarta that same day. I have never been to any hotel that can beat that kind of personal service. The individual staff members are approachable via WhatsApp. If you like quiet time (or even having the place to yourself a few days) consider visiting during changeover from wet to dry season. It is quiet and the weather in our case was mostly great. Had one nightly storm only! Rest was sunny and 32-35C.

It is an authentic Javanese resort with great views and lovely beach. The staff are very good and will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is optimal however English is a challenge for most. The stone bungalows are set on a ridge for beautiful views however they are set quite close together and the lack of privacy between them is noticeable. Planting a few trees between each would fix this. The outside showers were difficult as they were placed in bath tubs that collected debris from the neighbouring trees and required hand holding to use. The curtains were paper thin and we were not able to close them completely for privacy. You need to be an early riser which was not a problem for us. The day trips that we enjoyed were excellent and all were arranged by the resort staff. Kudos to them for taking the hassle out of truly enjoying the island. The beach is lovely but outsiders may use it for a supplement so it is not truly private. There are scooters to hire very cheaply to see the island if you so choose. Two things not to be missed are the island hopping tour and dinner at the night market for a fish feast. The restaurant at the resort was adequate for lunch and dinner but lacked sophistication. Breakfasts were superb. All in all, if you overlook the plastic garbage problem that all of Indonesia experiences ( which is not evident at the resort) you have made a great choice to stay at Breve Azurine. I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

An amazing location with our room overlooking the ocean. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. We used the complimentary kayaks and paddled out to the nearest island, rented a scooter and went snorkeling and hung out at the town square, Alu-Alu. Had some very fresh lobster, shrimp and squid. The room was fantastic.
