Ayu Hotel Karimunjawa

Evebrthing was good

The communication with the owner is very good. She answers to my questions quickly. The staff are very helpful. The location is good, many things around. I like their garden, pretty with flowers. There are cats too. We love the room, very quite. Bed and pillows are comfy. Upon arrival, the airco was turned on for you. They picked us up from the harbour. Also they delivered us to meeting point for our sea tour. We also rented their motorcycle. Thank you!

The breakfast was okay. On the first day, we ordered two items, but they forgot one item, took longer to finish our breakfast. On my last day, I ordered the fried noodles. It was too salty, I couldn't finish it. I’ve tried all their breakfast menu, I like the nasi goreng and omelet. During our stays, we only get the same fruits (watermelon). Some variations will be nice.

The location is convenient. You are still relatively close to the town without being in the busy area. The bed was semi hard, which was comfortable for us.

The property is a bit rundown and needs some tlc. The room wasn’t properly cleaned, looked old and lacked furniture. Although it has an open bathroom concept, there is almost no cover so when it rains everything can get wet, including the toilet and sink area, and not only the shower. The same issue happens when it is sunny and hot during the day. Overall, based on the price, comments, ratings and pictures, in comparison with other properties on the island, it was disappointing.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They organized our scooter rental, snorkelling trip, and boat tickets both ways. They would go out of their way to make the stay as comfortable as possible. As a bonus- There were lots of cute cats around the property!
