Beautiful quaint Manor in a quiet residential area. Beautiful grounds and streets. Walkable to beach areas and restaurants. Staff were kind and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing!

This is a beautiful property that I'm worried we visited on a bit of an off week as the proprietor had just returned from vacation. The good - The property and area really are quite beautiful, and we had a lovely view from our room. Breakfast was high quality, and what of it I could have (pregnant, so no runny eggs or cured meats) was tasty. The hosts make great recommendations and can book reservations and excursions for guests. The jetted tub was a welcome surprise. The could-be-improved - Note that if you book thru a 3rd party, you will not receive any communication prior to arrival and will need to remember that there is a 2hr check-in window. This was an issue for us as our ferry from Vancouver arrived late. The suite we had wasn't in full working order as both the light in the stairwell entry and cooking range weren't working. We only discovered the latter after buying groceries to make a late dinner on our last night after a busy day of sightseeing, and so went to bed hungry (I'm pregnant so that was not fun. In my mind, if a major facility of the suite isn't functioning, that should be called out at check-in and some reasonable accommodation made.) Various conveniences were missing - anywhere to charge a phone next to the bed, trash bin in kitchen, cream(er) for morning coffee (the pod coffee was pretty bad anyway), and though the bed seemed comfy at first, I woke up both nights with hip/back pain. Not exactly the 5-star experience I had hoped for, sadly.

The homemade gourmet breakfasts were fabulous and attractive with the fresh flower garnishes. The only caveat would be that all rooms require navigating a few stairs as well into the lobby/ dining room, so take thos into consideration if you have mobility issues. Otherwise, the rooms are old fashioned, but with modern upgrades like a small refrigerator (no freezer), coffeemaker, and an electric tea pot, small kitchen sink, basic dishes and utencils, dish soap and drainer. The gardens are lovely with umbrellas, tables and chairs to sit outside to enjoy the quiet secluded greenery and regular deer visitors.

Beyond beautiful, it was in such a pleasant quiet part of Victoria while also being close enough for a walk downtown. We enjoyed our time here and everyone was so lovely.

Fairholme Manor is a beautiful old Victorian house in a quaint neighborhood just minutes from downtown Vancouver. We were close enough to have easy access and far enough that evenings were super quiet and peaceful. The house is beautifully decorated and our room was incredible- soft, warm, inviting. Beds were super comfortable. It’s an old house, so you have to deal with some of the things that come with that- there’s no central AC, the bathroom was small (but well appointed) so I used surfaces in the kitchenette for my stuff. But that’s just part of staying in a B&B that’s an old house, so any reviewer that counts that negatively just wasn’t prepared. Sylvia does an amazing job of making you feel welcomed and cared for. The breakfast was exceptional. She had recommendations each day of things to do, and the grounds are lovely and peaceful and home to several deer. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay again. Fairholme Manor is highly recommended!

Best hotel experience I've ever had! I booked a night in the Olympic Grand Suite and the view was absolutely stunning! Everything in the room was clean and well organized. Thanks to Sylvia for everything, especially the breakfast! Will definitely come back again in the future!

Felt very welcomed and the breakfast was amazing. It was convenient to the Ferry but quiet and away from downtown. Perfect.

The room is so fabulous, nice and clean, high ceiling, spacious bathroom with 2 shower heads. The morning breakfast is exceptionally delicious, freshly baked goods, smoked salmon egg Benedict, fresh fruits, parfait...etc. All the staff there are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. We'll definitely come back again.

What a wonderful property, ran by a wonderful staff. Felt like a home, wish we could've have stayed longer. Not far from downtown but far enough that you got that neighborhood feel.

This stately home adjacent to the Lieutenant Governor's lands has views to the sea, and its own resident deer and bird populations. The owners, Sylvia and Ross and all members of staff make you feel truly welcome. Furnishings are comfortable and beautiful, and breakfast is a dream. This bed and breakfast has been an oasis to me!

This is a fantastic bed and breakfast! We just loved the character of this property and the surrounding area. The owner, Sylvia, is an amazing baker/chef and genuinely took an interest in our plans and offered up places to see and places to eat. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Was welcomed the first day to a warm and inviting room. The morning after at breakfast, upon updating a female staff of our intent to leave early the next day for our flight and check out process requirements, she insisted that we have not paid for our stay and was quite condescending on it. We pulled out our bank statement as proof that payment was made but her attitude left an unpleasant taste. That night, we went back to a room where it was absolutely freezing cold, lights in the hallway turnt off, it was like they “forgot” they had guests. We will not be returning for sure.

The landlord is very warm, thoughtful and sincere, and will come to stay next time.

Beautiful room and grounds. So scenic and peaceful with lots of nature. The food is excellent and staff attentive and caring. Our Host Sylvia is simply amazing. Keeps us returning year after year. Highly recommend!!!

This is a beautiful property in an interesting and walkable part of town, just steps from Government House and the public gardens there. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was unique and delicious.

Beautiful and serene garden where deer and rabbits roam! Spacious and bright suites and rooms with tasteful decor. Highlight is the 3 course breakfast, freshly made every morning by Silvia, just delicious!

We love the fairholme. It is beautiful, clean, well located adjacent to the lovely grounds of government house. The breakfasts are delicious. Christina, one of the staff, is delightful. Sylvia, the owner, offers customer service beyond compare.

Absolutely stunning both inside and out. The manor is impeccably well-kept, quiet and pristine. Perfect for a relaxing getaway and a delicious breakfast - well worth every penny!

Very Overrated. Guys, don't go as per the reviews: very overrated rooms, views and breakfast. There is nothing special about the price you pay for the stay. Zero amenities. They have staff which I did not find very helpful. They charge you for breakfast, but it felt like they they were doing me a favour when serving it. Just book a nice big-name hotel, and you'll be fine. DO NOT GO AS PER REVIEWS. IT CAN’T BE TRUE. JUST CAN’T BE.
