    Booked this hotel because of its close location to the train station and spacious room to accommodate my family of 5pax. When we were checking in, not sure how the reservation stated that it’s for 3 adults when we booked a room that can sleep maximum of 7pax. So we had to pay for additional 2 pax to stay which is another 20,000 yen for 2 nights per pax even after waiving off the daily accommodation tax of 400 yen per person. Not sure why this was an exceptional case because we were on a 2 week holiday to Japan across 3 prefectures 3 hotels and only this hotel had this issue. They refused to waive the additional amount that I had to pay even though my reservation was for 5pax, unfortunately I didn’t check closely my payment email that it says for 3pax. With that additional amount I could’ve stayed at another 4 star hotel just afew minutes away which we stayed there previously and it was lovely. Manager had to have an interpreter on the phone to assist with the translation of the issue. Even when I just wanted to make a cancellation, they could only refund 20% of my full payment which I have made so we had no choice but to pay extra 20,000 yen. We were trying to resolve this issue for over an hour after our check in time and when we requested for a slightly later check out time, additional charges apply. Room was spacious with 2 washrooms, however shower was really small and had to stand in bathtub while shower, quite dangerous for young children and elderly. Will not return again to this hotel as they’re not customer oriented and flexible even though we love Kyoto. Please check your reservations carefully to avoid this situation.

    The location was unbeatable, making it easy to explore nearby attractions, while the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Cleanliness throughout the property was impressive, and the overall value for money stood out. Facilities were good, though there was slight room for improvement in that area.

    Just disappointed when asking not for last room and corner room but needs to top up money to change room. And receipt was not as friendly as they are …. … hotel was a bit old room even is big but we are not enjoyable when stay over there for few nights … I’m sorry to said that … Not recommended to stay
