We’ve been looking for a country house hotel near relatives when we visit and Willington Hall is perfect and we’ve booked again for December

Staying at Willington Hall was a lovely experience in terms of hospitality, nothing was too much trouble for the team. However, our room wasn't the cleanest. The four poster bed was extremely dusty and the windows were full of cobwebs, dead and living spiders. Dead flies, were on both the windows sills and floor to the bathroom. I did complain about this upon leaving and received an apology. The hotel is really lovely, just disappointed about our room.

Very friendly welcome, we booked a suite, because no dogs are allowed there, which is probably a good idea when you have allergies. The suite was very spacious and romantic. The food was delicious, although I suspect that the breakfast portion size could be a bit larger for some people. The hotel has much charm and is situated in very quiet surroundings. The guest book proposed many things to do, but visitors should come by car, to get around easily. Parking spaces were more than enough outside. Willington Hall hotel is the place to go, if you like peace and quiet and like the charm of an old country house that is kept in check very well. The staff were very nice as well.

Excellent food. Fabulous service from reception, bar and restaurant. Beautiful location with amazing views. Friendly hospitable staff. Plenty of parking. Room was comfortable and spacious. It’s an old building with the related issues (you’d creak a bit if you were that old!). The breakfast buffet was limited however the cooked breakfast food more than made up for this. The evening meals were outstanding. We were part of a group of 6 and none of us were disappointed with the choice or quality.

Wonderful peaceful location. Attractive gardens. Ideally located for our visit to Donald McCain stable visit and Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre. Spacious rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Hotel. and there was a good choice of Breakfast included. Intend to come again when we're next in the area!

Nice place to stay for a couple of nights...... Old style facilities but more than adequate.... Checking out early can have its problems when trying to pay.... Restaurant menu and food is great - service is excellent. Breakfast is usually full of drama though.....

Very pleasant overnight stay at this attractive hotel. We had a large comfortable and well-appointed room with lovely views. Staff were very friendly and looked after us well. We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. We had an excellent dinner in the stylish dining room. Despite poor weather we thoroughly enjoyed our break at Willington Hall.

Double bed 4ft 6ins ridiculously small in 2021 particularly for £200 per night. Gardens partly neglected and need more maintenance. Parts of property look scruffy and need maintaining properly. Several guests with dogs in the rooms of the main building and public areas not acceptable. Breakfast arranged early but eventually served half hour later at normal time. Young staff friendly but very inexperienced. Nice people but do not seem to appreciate the standard required from a better class hotel. Far, far too expensive for what it is.

The staff were so friendly at Willington Hall, there was nothing they could have done to make our stay more confortable. The room was huge and beautiful. There was a travel cot already in place for our son and we were offered fresh milk if he needd it. The restaurant was clpsed, as it was a Sunday evening, but the bar menu was extensive and offered food that I would have been happy with in any hotel restaurant! There is nothing negative to say about our stay, and it was excellent value for money! We will definitely be back!

Arrived late (915 pm) expected to be told no food available but excellent bar staff got even better kitchen staff to produce the best ever deluxe burger I have eaten. Superb and really appreciated after a long day.
