We were quite cross to find when we arrived to check in that the hotel was closed! There was a sign on the door to say that the hours of business were from 1200hrs-1400hrs and 1900hrs to 2200hrs. I didn't see any such information when I made the booking, not on the booking confirmation, which said check-in was from midday, and although the hotel emailed me to confirm the booking and gave the information about the hours of service, I never saw the message until we arrived at 4pm, tired, hot, wanting a shower and a cold drink after a long drive! I would not have booked this hotel had I had that information at the time. It may be given somewhere, but it should be prominently displayed, as I would say it is pretty critical information. It seems extraordinary to me that a hotel should be closed any time during the day. However, we were greeted warmly and there is a nice restaurant. The room was very small, but comfortable. No lift, our room was on the 2nd floor, but we were reallocated to the first floor, as we are not spritely!

Rooms were acceptable, but very warm even with a fan, we slept with the window wide open and the fan on full. There was a nice coffee machine in the room, which is great as you don’t normally get one on Europe. The bed was comfortable, we slept very well. The shower grout could do with a deep clean. Staff friendly and very close to the station and close to the centre.

Hotel is beside the train station, small room and difficult to cool down in hot weather - but slept well all the same. Super restaurant downstairs with an outside terrace. Food served was extremely good, as was the breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful, in all - enjoyed my stay.

On booking did not realise checking in time was 6.00pm on a Saturday. A little late for us. Room tiny, basic, a little worn and extremely hot with a Small noisy fan. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Easy parking

Location is out of the centre of town but convenient, with own parking. The adjacent station is currently being refurbished (Aug 19) which leads to some early morning noise but the trains themselves did not keep us awake...Room could have done with some different thinking on interior design which would have made better use of the space.Our room did not have Air-conditioning - would have been good if it had!Restaurant menu has limited vegetarian options but what we had was excellent, as was the appearance of all dishes we saw.Having said all that it was good value for what we paid

WOW, what an amazing place to stay with really modern comfortable rooms, great food and great service from wonderful staff. Easily found and with it's own off road parking, perfect even for our four motorcycles, the experience was excellent and the food was especially good. The one down side was the two steep climbs on narrow stairs which unless fit is a real issue and even worse with luggage. Due to our ages we even dressed in our bike gear for breakfast as no one wanted to return to the rooms again. The hotel location was great for passing though but a little way from the centre but the suited us as we only stayed the one night for travelling south. Would we stay again, yes but would ask for a lower floor.

Low price budget hotel in good location if you dont wish to stay in Calais when travelling to and from the UK and depending on your journey time good stopping off point. Budget price therefore dont expect 5 star room. Clean and small. Bar and restaurant surprisingly good and excellent local beer. Good breakfast for the money. Staff very helpful. Right next to railway station which is huge. Car park.Good for the price.

I arrived late - having had difficulty finding the hotel - no GPS.The search was not helped by heavy rain, however on arrival good welcome from the staff on duty.Breakfast was adequate.Convenient as stop-over (once location known) on way to channel ports.

Everything was very shabby and dated. The whole room (and especially the bathroom) stunk of sewers. Whether or not this was to do with the torrential rain that had been falling before we arrived I do not know. We only had one towel and two dirty little plastic cups of which one had some loose change in so obviously hadnt been washed. The room was in need of a facelift. Besides that the hotel restaurant was actually good and the food was the good side of avavara. Would not stop there again because of the foul stench in the room if for no other reason

The hotel is in a lovely old building next to the railway station, which is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre. We had a family room in the attic which was ok but there were no windows, just a velux in the roof. It would have been nice to have a view. The room was clean, the bathroom was small and the stairs are steep.

We have stayed many times in or near St Omer on our way to Belgium or France and really like the town. This time we thought we would try a different hotel and this one really is different! The location is great within the recently modernised bus and train station zone. We were a bit concerned about train noise but this wasn't a problem as they are very infrequent and don't seem to run at night. The historic hotel/bar building has been well refurbished and the room (No 16 on the first floor) was spotlessly clean and functional - this is a 2 star so don't expect luxury! For €61 for the night and €7 per person for an excellent breakfast (served not buffet!) who could complain? We will definitely stay there again and plan to have a meal in the restaurant next time. Staff were very friendly.

V good value for the money. On arrival I was offered a larger room for the same tarif. Staff were welcoming and v pleasant. One light had fused in the bathroom, and the design and ease of use left a little to be desired, but one was not expecting Claridges, so there was no problem. I spent a warm, comfortable night, and the inclusive breakfast was v good. Quite satisfied for the price.

A simple but comforable hotel with an excellent restaurant (packed full of loacals but shuts at 1030 so not noisy later). Own parking (quite secure). A very definite stop off for the future (very good Auchan for stocking up).
