Waikoloa village is an oasis in the lava fields. The grounds of the Hilton are nice and the campus is massive. The tram to get from one end of the campus to the other was broken 3 out of 5 days. The gondolas that go the same thing more romantically, were completely out of service. That meant long walks. Housekeeping didn’t replenish coffee pods in our room, and then failed to replenish sweeteners on another day. Otherwise, the room was well tended. A panel that covers the plumbing in the bathroom was broken and neatly placed on the floor under the sink. No repairs were attempted during our 5 day stay. Self parking is easy for $48 a day. They do provide a key card, making multiple trips a breeze. We really did enjoy the Hilton. I think they earned maybe 3 1/2 stars out of 5. For the high price, we expected more.

This was the second time my wife and I have visited Hawaii. The last time was 20 years ago, before kids, when we went the Maui. This December we went to Waikoloa with our 14 and 16 year olds and it was a dream! The property is amazing, with a protected lagoon. They literally could swim with turtles, rays, and all kinds of fish. They also have a dolphin population right at the lagoon and you can watch them swim and play with their trainers all day long. It's pretty amazing. We stayed in a Makai garden room, which was clean and had wonderful views and easy access to the pool just outside. The onsite food options were a bit limited and were expensive, as we expected, but honestly not that bad compared to the mainland these days. You can also walk a bit less than a mile to some other options, which we did on a couple of occasions. If I can afford it, I will definitely come back to this place. And, I highly recommend it for families with older or younger kids.

We sent our son and new daughter-in-law here for their honeymoon. They said the resort exceeded their expectations! They had a great time :) They were upgraded to an ocean view room as soon as they checked in, loved the lagoon, thought the activities director was wonderful, really enjoyed the all day tour of the entire island (great tour guide) and the luau, and even saw the erupting volcano. Great experience for them- highly recommend!!

The bulding was still under construction with loud noise when we arrive to our room, the lobby was not even ready. it not even in livable condition. The hotel lobby have a bunch of old furnitures there that looks like they are from a 100 years ago, which looks like the ones from the scary ghost movie. My mom feel sick once we stepped into that building, before our luggage even arrived we had to go back to front desk and ask them to cancel our booking.

The checkin process was frustrating. I arrived at midnight on my checkin day, however, the hotel still needed me to wait for 20mins for check in. they said the room was in maintenance, which was pretty ridiculous. Also, they didn’t give me the room I originally wanted and assigned me to a room on a lower level which literally has no view (cuz the view was completely blocked by the building)

Our stay at the Hilton Waikoloa Village was wonderful! The resort is stunning, with gorgeous ocean views, lush grounds, and a unique tram and boat system that made exploring fun. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the pools and lagoon area, it was perfect for relaxing. The location is great for exploring the Big Island, but also has everything you need right on-site. We truly enjoyed our experience and would absolutely return!

The hotel is in need of renovation. The rooms appear somewhat neglected, and while the cleanliness is not bad, it doesn't meet the standards expected for a hotel of this category. Additionally, the area where the dolphins are kept is quite small and feels inadequate

We stayed in the Palace Tower and were disappointed to find our “newly renovated” room was not renovated, and the entire building was under construction—something we weren’t told in advance. Loud jackhammering from 9am–7pm made it hard to relax, and we only received notice about construction and balcony closures on our last night. On the bright side, the staff was very friendly, the grounds were clean, and parking was $48 per night. Without the construction, I would recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and great service. Dolphin pool and dolphin quest was a highlight, but it was also great to spend a day swimming in the lagoon with sea turtles. Highly recommend.

The property is very nice lagoon is the main thing why we keep going back there we love the snorkeling area.Makai room is all ocean view but is very old and outdated our room is room 3311 looking by the dolphin area but the water everytime we shower goes outside and it’s flooding the floor 3 towels needed to dry it.My husband almost fall coz we didn’t know its flooding .We just decided to stay in that room coz of the view and just ask towels everyday.I did told the front desks during check out to correct the problem and for future bodily injury.Properly is beautiful itself.

A major renovation above our floor was not adequately communicated. There was drilling as late as 7 pm that sounded as loud as a jackhammer above you. It triggered the fire alarms twice. My son was terrified. While the management was empathetic and offered to comp a night, I cannot believe that they are not more transparent about the horrific noise levels. Literally we were given a sheet of paper with the hours 9-7 given. But since j was checking in with children we didn’t fully read this or even think to ask more about what “renovations” entailed. Unacceptable. Outside of that, the walk was very long because the tram does not come often. The grounds are very clean and everyone was very friendly. The lagoon was a nice option for paddling or snorkeling at the hotel.

This hotel is very clean, and at least it’s quiet at night. That’s probably the only positive thing I can say. The front desk staff seriously needs to improve how they treat tired guests who arrive after long flights, eager to finally get to their rooms. The attitude feels cold and unhelpful. The property is massive, with endless stairs, but barely any signs pointing to the few elevators available. If you don’t stop to ask, prepare to wander up and down aimlessly. The lack of clear information signs is unacceptable for a resort of this size. Prices here are outrageous. Everything is extremely expensive, from food to amenities. And parking? That’s the worst part. Self-parking is $48 per night, valet is $55, and the hotel still charges $48 just to use the parking lot. That’s a ridiculous $96 a day if you actually use their system. I stayed five days and four nights and walked away with a parking bill of $523.10. That’s robbery, plain and simple. In the end, the hotel feels like a tourist trap. Clean rooms won’t make up for overpriced everything, confusing layouts, poor signage, and unfair charges. Definitely not worth the money.

The property is beautiful, and it’s very family friendly. There was so much to do; I would 100% come back. My only qualm was that I spent about $115 on the buffet breakfast, and it was disappointing. The food was cold and just unappetizing. Not worth all that money.

Property itself is very pretty! Staff isn’t all that friendly, with handful of exceptions. Loved being able to watch the dolphins at the dolphin quest. Not enough dinning and eating option for that large of a facility. Not close to more local foods and store. No beach and sand access unless at lagoon if that’s what you’re looking for.

This resort is amazing! Everything from my room to lobby, pool, and anything in between was immaculate. On property activities were endless. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what Hilton had to offer. There will definitly be a next time and I will stay much longer than this las visit.

Outdated, not what I was expecting at all. I had 2 adults 2 kids reservation and they gave me a king bed for all of us. Also, Receptionist was very unfriendly.

As a single parent of kids with disabilities, this property was a total nightmare. The resort is ENORMOUS. I was reassured that there was a tram that could take us to the pools but during our entire stay we successfully caught the tram twice. Which meant we were putting in 15,000 steps per day going from our room to the pools, entertainment. The only restaurant in our tower was an extremely expensive Italian restaurant. There’s no bottled water in the rooms so they give you fillable water bags—but good luck finding the filling stations. The towel dispensers are not where the maps say they should be. The parking lot is far and requires a lot of steps. I put in a housekeeping request for more towels and coffee and hard to check in multiple times for several hours before anyone came. When I was booking this I reached out to the resort and mentioned I will be traveling with kids with autism. I asked if they had any tips for me since I’d be traveling as a single parent, and their only response was “we have no kids club.” That should have been a sign for me that this resort is not disability-friendly. It’s very beautiful and flashy but they absolutely do not accommodate anyone with physical needs and the food is not kid-friendly (I.e you can’t even get a hamburger anywhere). I’m so disappointed considering how much money I spent. To be fair, my kids had a nice time (aside from the walking) but it was at my expense since I had to carry everything.
