This hotel was perfect for a family trip. Friendly staff, clean room and facilities, 3 pools, a slide, and access to excursions. Walkable options for food outside of the hotel too.

TERRIBLE…This place is incredibly expensive, but they are doing construction. They gave us a view of the road calling it a “balcony,” and then when we asked for a different room saying it was our honeymoon (it was), and that my husband was a veteran (it was Veterans Day weekend), they “upgraded” our room for an extra hefty fee. What they didn’t tell us was that the extra fee view came with 8 hours of construction every day of our stay and 3 hours of a Luau right after. Just imagine sanding cement to make it smooth and jackhammering. Will never stay here again.

Our family greatly enjoyed our week-long stay. The staff were friendly and largely helpful and the facility is gorgeous. The nine of us (in five rooms) agreed we'd return, but a couple bumps prevent a five-star rating. The star of the resort is the facility itself. The pool, beach, and walk between them are everything one imagines on a Hawaiian vacation. Spectacular sunsets, sea turtles, and a little history make this resort a standout. The coffee shop and lanai offer a delightful start to any day. Add to that a friendly staff committed to service and always with a smile. Housekeeping kept the resort and our rooms spotless. Two areas keep us from giving five stars. First, the concierge was friendly, but don't rely on them. We wanted fish tacos and were considering the Lava Lava next door, but its website said they are only served during lunch. The concierge assured us otherwise. We had a great time, but no fish tacos. Then one day's plans fell through and we asked for alternatives. The only suggestion from the concierge--shopping. These are small issues--I don't expect a concierge to know everything--but if you don't know, then say so or look into it. Second, a patio is not a balcony. We booked five rooms explicitly with balconies; we only got two. I was told that the manager considers patios to be balconies and no remedy or further discussion was offered. When I book five rooms for a week at a resort--and am a Bonvoy member--we like to get what we requested and paid for.

Beds were full sized, not 2 queens. Everything well kept. Marriott situated in a compact community campus with private condos, private golf course, gas station a couple small shopping centers, super market. Beyond that is the ocean and lava. So have to drive outside of this. Marriott accommodating for pool-side loungers, snorkeling

Stayed at a few places around the Hawaiian islands on a family trip. This was a bit disappointing. The resort is a bit tired, the dining options on site were slow, just OK on the food and expensive for what is a pretty basic experience. The pools lacked shade. The rooms were OK, but smelled musty. The AC is noisy. The bay itself is lovely, with plenty of fish and turtles to see. The location is a bit far from everything else so we did a fair amount of driving.

This was very walkable to shipping, dining, and beach. The only complaint is that the drinks were very weak. The food was great, especially the French dip sandwich.

Expedia does a HORRIBLE job communicating with the hotel. None of your notes that are requested upon booking is transferred to the hotel. I had to request a room change TWICE. Final room was great. The drinks and spa were mediocre. However, the massage technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. The location is great and very convenient.

Old elevators. One was on/off broken. Extremely expensive for unknown reasons. Fries are $16! The property outdoor is nice but the beach turned out to not belong to Marriott anymore. Which wasn’t mentioned on their website. It’s a 3rd party and rental for a covered chair is $75 for 4 hours. Overall, I think it’s a nice hotel but it’s way overrated and way too expensive for what it’s offering thinking of taxes this and taxes and taxes on resort fee and it’s insane. I’m ok paying for all these taxes, but I think we shouldn’t be charged so expensively for food.

The white headboard had a ugly blue marker stain. Went downstairs to let them know it was not pleasant sight and they said they would fox that. Never did anything to Remove the stain when checked out they said they would fix it once we checked out. Rented 2 rooms stayed 3 nights. Was not necessarily cheap either, after a long day exploring the island it was a ugly sight to come too.

Nice location on a lovely beach. Overall hotel is very beautiful. Limited dining at the hotel and the ocean view room didn’t deliver on the promise on the third floor but if you were lucky enough to be on the fifth or higher certainly did. Not enough pool chairs with shade options. Great pool diversity though. Overall a great time but definitely doesn’t inspire “have to come back” feelings.

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa was such a great experience. The staff are a big part of what made this stay so memorable. Bryan our waiter at the resort restaurant was beyond friendly, patient and gave us 5 star recommendations on places to see, experience and places to eat on the Island. Our room was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The pool was also another amazing experience and close by beach access!! We got suckered into sitting on a time share presentation in order to get free luau tickets, and as much as they tried to pressure us to buy a timeshare, we said nope and got our free tickets to the luau which was spectacular and such a joy to experience. I hope we get the chance to stay again soon!!

We were notified of a water leak effecting our room and others. We were moved to the neighboring Hilton. The stay there was excellent. Bothe staffs were very helpful, generous and accommodating for this emergency relocation. We still attended the Luau at the Marriott which was superb. A big thanks to Gabriel for working with me and taking care of us.

We stayed here for a wedding and though it was a short trip, I’m so glad I booked this as our accommodations at the last minute. The resort is beautiful and quiet which allowed us to really enjoy time by the pool and on the beach. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting the big island!
