Great little hotel cheapest around with fresh rooms fantastic staff and lovely English breakfasts

First night -2 outside; bedroom window open on arrival and no heating in the room. Complained by email next day asking for someone to contact me as was away early morning working; no one phoned; I phoned to complain and was told they check the heating. And if necessary they would move me to another room. Arrived back after a long working day; asked about room - I had been moved to a different room ; I asked about my things in the room and was told they'd been moved. Went up the stairs to find my new room and my belongings hadn’t been moved. So all the way back down stairs. Asked for person on duty; she got the other key and we got my belongings. Turned out ‘no heating ever in that room and there should have been a heater in it. Window should never have been left open. Yip bad staffing/cleaner not doing there job correctly. Was helped down with my belongings to the new room. Lady staff member came in the room with me to check the room. I got settled to watch TV and relax. Less than an hour later I went to the bathroom only to lift the toilet lid and actually couldn’t believe my eyes. I have never ever seen anything as disgusting as this. I closed the toilet lid; got my shoes on and yet again went back downstairs. Ask to speak bar person I needed to speak to person again on duty; when they came ‘I said you’re not going to believe this; I need you to see this’. We went upstairs; into the room and I ushered her into the bathroom; invited her to lift the toilet lid and her reaction was as bad as mine. Disgusting, sick feeling and no words. The staff member took a photo to show the owner; went and got cleaning materials and gloves. It was enough to make you physically sick…… I have waited and waited but owner still hasn’t had the decency to phone me regarding my stay from hell. Owner will have been told and seen photo. I will so if owner phones me now after this review. Photo is disguising. Was charged before stay! Horrific poor stay.

Came to the White Swan to go to the Volunteers hall to see a Band.The hotel was perfect ,great place ,clean, great food and great Staff especially the breakfast waitress who loved dogs! Would go here every time.
