    We booked into an executive room for 1 night, when we arrived we were told about a £50 holding charge, which would be refunded on check out, we were given a small dirty room, with a dead ladybird on the sofa, this was a basic room as per the hitels website, we complained to reception who very helpfully moved us into the exec room we booked. We we got into the room and there was a foul smell of drains, we saw 2 plug in airfreshers which we quickly switched on, we also noticed the tv had black tape holding a side on. I had a bath, which leaked underneath on emptying, this was reported as I wanted my holding deposit back on leaving. When I checked out this morning I again mentioned the leaking bath and was told the holding deposit would be returned in 3-5 working days. Overall, we had a good stay as went out, but the whole hotel needs alot of tlc and maintenance, which is a shame as the building is lovely has alot of history.
