Thao Nhi Hotel

The location (in the so called Back Packers' Quarter) is great - slap bang in the middle of District 1: 10 minutes walk to Ben Thanh Market, 15-20 to Nguyên Hue and Opera House. Value for money - clean rooms, decent size, air-conditioning that works well, tv, with a range of western channels. The guys who run this place are lovely, so warm and hospitable. They are one of the reasons I have been going back for several years.

Everything... I've stayed a number of times now It's in a great location... I love the lane it's in with its little restaurants, bars and specialty shops... it opens up to the chaos of Pham Ngu Lao at one end and the lights, music and action of Bui Vien at the other, but you wouldn't even know it. The lane is like a cocoon... a little world of it's own. The hotel has cold aircon, bar fridge, ensuite bathroom with hot water, a lift (even that's airconditioned), cable TV, excellent WIFI, and laundry service. A llittle foyer and front desk area that has a 'homely' feel too it. And the best thing about it... it's run by a kind and lovely family. While a small 'language barrier' might exist, it's obvious they're very welcoming of their guests. Smiling with your eyes tells you everything. I love it! And... 99% of hotel beds in Vietnam are firm. I get a great night's sleep and my back wouldn't have it any other way.

Our second time here and we really love the friendly welcome from the staff, such nice guys. Room was good for one night, no external window but bright privacy light giving a natural light impression from internal window. Water, kettle, fridge and a good shower with comfortable bed, everything we needed. Many bars and restaurants near by, opposite a park and near walking street. Fantastic value for money
