    We have been going around Permas Jaya the past few months trying out various boutique hotels. This is the most expensive one but is only slightly better than those that are half it's price. We got a deluxe king on the ground floor. The sleeping area is small. Standard coffee and tea but no fridge. Shower is a nice size and separate from the toilet and sink. Bed is supposedly Slumberland but not that soft or comfy. Decor was simple in the rooms. Worst part is that room smelt musty. I think it's because toilet windows were kept shut because it was ground floor, opening directly to a dodgy public carpark, and there was no other ventilation. Sewer covers were visible on the corridor just outside the room. We asked for a change of room but were offered another room on the ground floor and told we had to pay RM10 to upgrade to it. We requested to go and smell the room first and it also had the same musty smell. Receptionist was nice to find us an air freshener spray which made things more bearable however, it is the unhealthy presence of possible mould spores that I was worried about, even if you can't smell it anymore. Basic coffee and tea provided and snacks and drinks for sale near the lobby. Like all other Permas Jaya hotels, easy access to lots of food and massage options. Street side parking and another public carpark behind the hotel. For a few dollars less, I would just book another nearby hotel that really impressed us on our last trip, that smelt nice, had a comfy bed, nice decor and larger room. I may come back if the price drops and I don't get assigned ground floor musty room.
