    Just a stone throw from Concubine Lane and a short walk from Ipoh Train station. This hotel is convenient and has everything you need for a short stay. Only weakness is the TV In the room is not working, so it’s a bit disappointing.

    There was an unexpected RM50+ additional charge by the hotel compared to the initial price displayed on Agoda before booking. I contacted the hotel to clarify the extra charge, and was told that it was for tax. However, the tax appeared to have already been included in the price breakdown shown on Agoda before booking. I had to liaise with Agoda Customer Service back and forth, and eventually received AgodaCash to offset the additional amount paid. However, the reason for the extra charge was still not clearly explained. The location is definitely a plus, it is within walking distance to Concubine Lane, many eateries, and several attractions in Ipoh. However, the cleanliness and basic amenities were below expectations. The bedsheet was pilling and had quite a lot of hair on it. Basic items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, cup, electric kettle and hangers were not provided. A hairdryer and even toilet paper had to be requested from the reception. The TV in the room was also not working. Soundproofing was another issue. I could clearly hear water running and pipes from the neighbouring rooms when people were showering, as well as snoring from the next room. Light sleepers may want to take this into consideration. On the positive side, the reception staff were helpful and responsive. Overall, considering the total price paid, I don’t feel the stay offered good value compared with other boutique hotels in Ipoh. The location is convenient, but the cleanliness, room facilities, noise insulation and unexpected additional charge made the stay less worthwhile.
